Hi,

My sister would like to petition me as she is a US citizen. Im currently working right now in CNMI, a US territory but i dont have yet a US visa.

My question is, if im under petition (which would take about 10-15 years i guess), will it be difficult for me to get a US visa in case I would like to visit her and the kids this December?

Please advise me.

Thanks.

Yes, if you qualify for a tourist visa and are approved, then one can be issued to you

It is strange that you are in CNMI without some sort of a US visa as CNMI is subject to the same US immigration laws as other US territories

Yes you can still apply for a tourist visa. The problem is with a sibling petition in the works (which currently takes 23 years from the Philipines), you have obvious immigrant intent, so it will be more difficult for you to prove that you will be going back home. Be prepared to show strong ties to your home country and/or the country you currently work in.
