He divorces you and you have no choice but to gt deported! (Just sayin)

LOL. I am not thinkin that kind of stuff. I believed that if people will think that divorce might happen, then it will!

In short, if he divorces me, then its okay I only have to move on with life. I dont care about immigration stuff, I only care about building a life together with him in the future.

July 15, 2011: Eligibility letter received from US Embassy-Manila(dated July 11, 2011)

October 26 - June 5, 2012: SLEC trap!!! (DOT tx to vaccine administration)

June 7, 2012: Interview (APPROVED!) :)

June 18, 2012: Visa picked up at the embassy

June 20, 2012: POE in Detroit

Yeah, I know that. And it's okay for me. And yes ur right, it's my choice, thanks. And in response to others statements, I also know that I will be out of status once the I-94 expires and I also know that I shouldn't travel outside the US once Im out of status. Really just want to rest our minds with these immigration paperworks for awhile.

Also address to others:

What I mean showing respect to him by doing it is that in that way, atleast I can tell that "marriage is NOT for immigration" as what I have read on one member here lately.. :blush:

Waiting 6 months is really not too bad I guess.. I think when you come here you will know and you will feel when it is the right time to file based on the necessity.. God bless and Goodluck on the marriage and everything else! Everyone here in VJ (most especially this forum) will be ready to help you once you are ready to file for AOS! :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

It may be a simply case of no money for the AOS?? just wondering.. :whistle:

Pretty sure no. :) The finances are good so far. Just want to prove that marriage is NOT for immigration.

Hi all!

Just a quick advanced question- how late can we apply for AOS without causing any problems? :unsure:

I just want to know in advance cause I want to have some time enoying my marriage for maybe atleast the first year before sending my AOS packet to USCIS... I'm not in a rush though with this immigration thing. Just want to focus on my future family for atleast a year into the marriage. I plan to set aside these paperworks for awhile..

Does it cost any problems if I apply AOS a year after the marriage? If so, how late can I apply?

Please advice....
