Point of Entry with a Canadian passport?

Hello All!

My wife and I are both Canadian citizens (born in Europe) and we've just received our passports back from Montreal consulate with visas in them, after our DV interview. The visas are valid for 6 months and we would like to start the immigration process closer to winter time as we won't be able to move to US until next year.

Now, my question, as a Canadian citizen is... Am I able to enter the United States right now as a Canadian (ie no visa required), for travel purposes only? I do not wish to receive the Green Card just yet, I simply want to visit.

Do you think this may be a problem as the customs officer will see the immigrant visa page in my passport and may question why I am not entering as an immigrant?

Likely they will activate the immigrant visa.

Sorry but like Anh said, because its from DV they will probably activate the visa on entry. Few times if at all will they let you enter and not activate it even with a CR-1/IR-1 or K-1.

What if I won't have the "mysterious" yellow envelope on me at the POE? What do you think might happen then?
