States DO NOT rely on Federal Funds.

You better tell your governor...

Turns out Texas was the state that depended the most on those very stimulus funds to plug nearly 97% of its shortfall for fiscal 2010, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Even budget deficits are bigger in Texas

Texas, which crafts a budget every two years, was facing a $6.6 billion shortfall for its 2010-2011 fiscal years. It plugged nearly all of that deficit with $6.4 billion in Recovery Act money...

States DO NOT rely on Federal Funds.

There is no such thing as "Federal Funds."

There is money taken from you and me and given to another state. Those are the PEOPLE's funds. If THE PEOPLE kept their funds, a long with the states, we'd be a lot better off.... except for losers like California who never met a spending bill they didn't like.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Californians have consistently paid more to the feds than they have received back. They've been supporting the leeches in Texas.

Actually true. If California broke even, meaning the State received the same Federal Funding that it's citizens paid in income taxes alone, California would be in surplus, and imagine what would happen to all those pot holes if we got all our Federal Fuel taxes back in highway funds.
