Hi all,

I just received a notification saying my EAD has been approved and that the card has been ordered. We also got our interview date Aug 16th, yey:) Still no word on my AP approval though, it just says "Initial review" on my case.

My question is, could it be possible that I will receive the EAD/AP combo card (even though I applied separately, got two NOAs and file numbers)?? I am hoping this is the case, but I don't want to get my hopes up...

Anyone else who had this experience? Should I call USCIS and ask or is it a waste of time?

Thanks!

Jenny

It's possible you're getting the combo card. What do you mean by filing separately? The forms are separate... Did you mail them in at different times? And if so, how far apart? You'll know for sure in a few days when the card comes.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Sent it in together with my I-485 (May 10th), just meant I got two separate NOAs for I-131 and I-765 and didn't know if there was a way to file for both with one form. I actually didn't know about the combo card when I filed, but it would be amazing if both are approved and they just didn't update the AP case online!

Oh, yeah, they are still separate applications because they are used for different purposes. Lots of people fill out a I-765 for all sorts of reasons, and the I-131 is also use for reentry permits and refugee documents. They just made a combo thing for people who AOS to cut down on costs and hopefully make things more streamline for everyone. I will bet the mortgage that you are getting the combo card and they are both approved. :) The online system isn't reliable.

You were right! Combo card received yesterday and I couldn't be happier! Just booked a trip to Australia to attend my best friend's wedding and go for a little honeymoon ourselves B-)
