I have read a lot of thread from this site for long.I realised that most people here write on K/IR/CR issues but not F2.MY LPR wife petitioned for me and my PD Nov 2009.Case approved at NVC but waiting for PD to be current.I want to find out how early can I get an interview date in Accra after PD is current.I realise people with the K/IR/CR CAN wait between 6mts-1 year and over.

If NVC has collected documents already (I-864, DS-230)

then

yer PD was already current - the casefile is held prior to any NVC processing until the PD becomes current.

Case approved at NVC = Document Intake complete.

Alas, the bigger problem that you'll have now -

Accra is lagged into oblivion - anywhere from 12 to 18 months after NVC has finished with the document intake.

Thanks very much Darnell for the quick responds I still want to know if the wait time of 1-1.5 years of wait after case approved at NVC is just for all immigrant cases including F2A or just for the K1-3/IR/CR.Thanks

Longer wait time is ALWAYS going to be for LPR based petitions, not USC based as there is no waiting for immigrant visa number for a relative of a USC.

alas, it's for all immigrant visas at Accra - F2A is an immigrant visa. K-1s are also effected. There's a notice up here about it - let me know if you can't find it ?

According to your OP, your PD is Nov 2009, which is not current yet. It is good news that Your case was completed at NVC. When your PD become current, NVC will schedule your interview date...but Its not sure How long it will take to get interview to be schedule in your country embassy lagged. As i know USC like CR1/K1 will get priority first than F2A.

Good Luck!!

USCIS

PRIORITY DATE : FEBRUARY 3RD, 2010

CASE APPROVED ON SEPTEMBER 9TH, 2010

NVC

CASE COMPLETED ON DECEMBER 21ST, 2010

^^^VISA APPROVED ON JULY 3RD, 2012^^^
