Hello, I have a question on this form DS-156K that you have to send in to the embassy for the K1-VISA and I hope that someone can help me out with it. My question is that in the middle of the form(DS-156K form) it says ""The Following Documents Must Be Attached In Order To Apply For A Fiancee Nonimmigrant Visa"" The Contents are " Birth Certificate, Divorcee Decree, Evidence of Engagement to your Fiancee, Evidence of Financial Support, and Police Certificates" So does that mean you have to send these documents in with the form (ds-156K) or when do you send them in ????? THanks for any information anyone has..:)

That form is to be sent to the US Embassy with all the other required forms, proof and documents which are stated in the Packet 3 instructions.

I was also curious about this . .

So I send the DS-156k with the DS-156, DS-157 and DS-230 part 1 to the US Embassy in London.

AND I send all the ORGINAL DOCUMENTS aswell including my Birth Certificate and Police Certificate etc etc.

I thought I TOOK them to the Interview rather than SEND them. I do not like the idea of so much data in one package at the same time . .

Do note that the embassy you will be dealing with sometime determines that... for example, in the UK, you don't send the documents - you only bring them to the interview. Might be helpful to fill in some of your profile details so you can obtain accurate information :)

Correct - in the UK you TAKE the documents with you to the interview :)

The only thing you will send in are the forms themselves!

Thanks! :-)

In London for the interview - before you actually have the 'interview' they have a document check station where they will ensure you have everything to hand... !

* Kristin * - thank you for the clarification, although i do feel very uneasy going AGAINST what the forms say...

But you guys looks happily married (soon to be!) so i trust you ;) Cheers

First thing you have to do is send DS-230 part 1 and 1 photo to the US Embassy.

Then all the other forms, etc. stated in the packet 3 instructions.

Someone correct me if I´m wrong, maybe it´s done differently in the UK.

As far us UK goes:

Do you suppose they do anything if you send them with packet 3? Unfortunately I compiled them all in preparation for packet 3 (just trying to follow instructions!!), I just really hope nothing becomes "old news," you know? That would be a nightmare. Ugh. Anyway I hope they would take them into consideration, but I bet not.
