Hi! Wow, your story mirrors mine. Alan and I met Oct. 2009. I moved down to the US (temporarily) Feb. 2010. We got engaged Feb. 2011. Filed for K-1 - NOA! July 19th.

Waiting and waiting. I'm in Canada, he's in the US.

Let's stay in touch!

Well,

RFE's suck, but at least you know human hands touched your petition. Our file date is July 15 and absolutely NOTHING from USCIS. Saw Igor's list and it really warmed me to see September filers with approvals already.

This sucks!!!

Another wasted day waiting!!!

I agree about the September filers. Happy for them, but OUCH!!!

You guys are in the same boat as me regarding similar NOA-1 dates. I'm utterly disgusted that no NOA-2 has been issued yet.

Worse, USCIS site is down this weekend, so even if approval was to come you'd never receive notification. Never envisioned this taking so long, especially since when I filed in July CSC was approving I-129F's in UNDER 90 days. Adding isult to injury, September filers have approvals already.

Merry Christmas USCIS...

Azn,

I agree with much of your sentiment although I'm more disappointed than disgusted. It's a bitter pill to swallow when seeing that September filers are starting to get approvals...sigh. And all along I thought our petition was so vanilla and we wouldn't hit any bumps in the road. I'm now looking forward to a 2012 present with a NOA2 notification....it's hard being apart during the holidays.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Hi Dan...

You're a better man than me for only being disappointed. Remember when we filed in July? Approvals were coming in about 2 months. I was sure Fresy would be here by Thanksgiving. So much for that...

I have no grudge for those September filers who are fortunate enough to have received their NOA-2's, especially if they're military with orders to deploy - BUT - I never believed for even a moment that USCIS processes the petitons in the order that are received. There are too many times when filers are approved totally out of order...

Yes it's really difficult to be apart for the holiday, especially since it DOESN'T have to be that way. If USCIS actually processed petitions in the order they were received or better yet, if they gave a $hit, then you and I would have had our NOA-2's a while ago.

Some day I am sure I will look back on this time and laugh, but tonight sure aint that day!

We're all in this together, but sure as hell - USCIS blows.

my input on USCIS bologna for today!

Does it really take 2 weeks to send a mail from Vermont to New Hampshire? No, it doesnt.

My lovely fiance can send me mail in a matter of days from the middle of the blue blue pacific, on the other side of the bloody world!!!! But, USCIS can't get my case from Vermont to the NVC in New Hampshire before 15 days. Sighhhhh

My grown-up christmas list:

we will all be with our better halves for christmas! (if only in our dreams.. ) too much christmas music will do this to a person!

Hi :)

I dont know if this has something to do with that but there is a option to track your package when you already have the NVC number, and they send maximum 10 petitions per day according what I have seen in about 10 different dates that I have been looking at, so maybe when it is from USCIS to NVC is the same and they dont send the petition as soon as it has been approved and they are on a line waiting to be sent, and I guess it has somthing to do with the adjudicator too, so it is not just the time that takes for the package to get from a place to the other it is also that and that when NVC receives the approved petition they dont update that in their system so fast, sometimes it takes a couple of days or a little more.

I am obviously not an expert in this matter, but this is my opinion... just be patient, you willhave to NVC number very soon, check out my timeline, it took a while too, good luck in the rest of the process!! :)

Hi AZN,

Trust me, I feel your pain! Oh yes my friend, I remember filing in July...and when approvals were coming in much quicker. I had hoped that I'd receive my NOA2 in 3 months thinking that perhaps the 5 months "guideline" might only be a maximum figure. It's true, it is only a general guideline and not a requirement they have to meet.

Of course like yourself, I don't hold any ill will or grudge against any other filer thats already received their NOA2 after myself. (including September filers) Truly I'm happy for them especially since for many this is such an important time of year to be with family and friends. I too wish that the petitions were adjudicated in the order of their receipt but having some intimate knowledge of the process, it's sadly not the case. There are just too many variables that won't allow for that. To a certain degree I've just resigned myself to the fact that there will be little if any significant movement until after 2012 arrives.

Oh how I miss my Chel! You and I are just case numbers to USCIS and we're waiting for ours to be called.

So, from us to you and Fresy, remain strong. Like you, I do believe we'll one look back at all the trials, tribulations, and more importantly all the patience and waiting we've endured and put forth. If we won't laugh, it's better than crying...hahaha. One day we'll muse about how the process helped shape each of us and our relationships with our fiances.

Cheers!

If it makes you guys feel better I'm drinking a cold Bud Light right now!

Seriously though, one thing that makes all this B.S. tolerable is the friendships that are forged by the fact that we aren't going through this alone. I can honestly say I feel both your pain and hope all of us get our NOA-2 notices on Monday as soon as the USCIS site comes back on line.

I feel the pain of all of you. I thought we'd get ours by November, for a possible New Years together a least.

Now I''m praying for maybe a Valentine's Day arrival...when taking into account all the other time constraints.

*sighs*

A year from now we'll all look back and laugh. ... and instead we'll be complaining about the AOS process hahaha.

Thanks for the support, I'm sure your NOA-2 is right behind ours!

I'm kind of resigned to the fact that Christmas is out, still hoping for perhaps having her here in time to watch the ball drop together for New Years...

I know I must REALLY love Fresy! Tonight I braved the crowds at the malls to get her some winter clothes and a couple of coats. I know she must REALLY love me because she is willing to move to the suburbs of Cleveland to be with me. Poor woman has NEVER seen snow and she's cold when the temperature gets "down" to 72...

AOS will be a breeze. They can take as long as they want because we have no plans to travel back to Costa Rica for vacation until mid-summer next year.
