It's a game of semantics. Tightening the tax code is not the same as changing the marginal rates. You might find bipartisan support for removing tax subsidies across the board, as well as find dug-in resistance from the usual players on both sides of the isle.

That's terrible. I'm against both.

Let me clarify. I would ensure that Hitler had a fair and very speedy trial. When guilty he would be executed in 48 hours. If a person is having a bad day and walks into his place of employment and murders 15 people and injures 5 more, and he is caught red-handed on video tape, I would ensure he was found guilty and executed within 48 hours. If a person breaks into a home and rapes a 10 year old girl, tortures the 15 year old guy, slices the throat of the father, and then rapes the mother and puts her body parts in the oven, I would ensure his right to a speedy trial and that he was executed in 48 hours.

Say there are the top 10 most wanted terrorists out there. We capture #3. We have strong evidence that he knows that there is going to be a massive terrorist attack (worse than 9/11) happening within the next month. He knows the guys that will carry it out. Water board him until he talks. Who cares? Besides you?

Now if a guy gets into a heated argument with someone and pulls out his gun in rage and kills the person...Does he deserve to die as much as Hitler? Probably not. So he would get a choice of Life without parole or 48 hour death sentence.

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

It seems to me that the GOP has an internal rift now. I wonder if its worth test voting the 3 trill. cut + 1 trill tax bill.

You could get that through the Senate but you can't get it to a vote in the House - you might be able to pass it in the House (I still think there are enough sane Republicans in the House to get to passage with the votes of those sane Republicans and the Democrats) but Boehner can't bring it up. If Boehner did try to bring it up for a vote, I'd expect to see a new Speaker before the next election.

Looks like you've got it all figured out. We should appoint you judge, jury and executioner.

It's not as complex as you are making it out to be.

But we can agree to disagree.

If the murderer admits to the heinous crime + there is DNA or video evidence then immediately put him down. Does that bother you?

Yes. I don't think the state should kill people.

Life in prison = $1,000,000 taxpayer funded support (free gym membership, 3 hot meals, bed, running water, phones, visitations, jobs, access to media, free healthcare, etc.)

The way I would do it it (execution of most heinous proven serial killers dead in 48 hours) = minimal taxpayer costs

Every 1000 serial killers convicted would save the country another billion.

Like I say to my brother..."You feel sorry for these serial killers on sentencing day? If that is the case then you must be balling your eyes out when you hear about the crimes they committed. I mean if you are feeling remorse and sadness for a killer then you have to feel that on a much more intense level when hearing about their heinous crimes".

But what we tend to find out is that the person doesn't feel a damn thing when they hear about the crimes committed. But they do feel intense remorse and sadness over the killer being sentenced to life or death....Really bizarre and there must be some type of medical term for it...

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

Oil gets subsidies?blink.gif

Link please.

Steven likes it when Harry Reid wants to hold a meaningless vote, not that the House Republicans don't do the same thing. Steven likes to avoid the issues, because all the things he wants won't survive without subsidies. Take them all away, let the market set the price, instead of trying to force ####### down peoples' throats, and keeping lucrative enterprises from getting established.
