Can remember my land line number, calling it constantly when away, but a cell phone is personal, only I use it, and really don't need it to talk to myself, can do that without a phone. So I had to print a small label so I could read that off if someone needed that number.

Living in the sticks does not help, was a little as 18 years ago our exchange was still using dial phones even though touch tone came out in the late 60's. That is when I memorized a whole bunch of phone numbers. But all those numbers are programmed in now, and only see them once, just hit the name of the person I want to call. Asking phone numbers is ridiculous, but your IO knows that, so she can make an issue out of it. She should be lucky to work for the government with excellent health benefits, more time off than actually working, with early retirement at practically the same pay she is getting now.

In the old dial phones, phone companies use to insert a round card in the phone with the number of that phone, don't even do that anymore. If using someone else's phone to get a return call, have to ask the owner their number, they can't even remember that.

Luck is getting an appreciative IO, but my wife and stepdaughter had nasty IO's, apparently both immigrants themselves as spoke very poor English, and of different races. Would think since they have been through the process would be a little nicer. But, no, just the opposite. And as I have said many times before, the USCIS is the only certifying agency where you only meet one individual, not a board that either votes approval or rejection. Not one person with all that power over you.

Luck is getting a decent IO, we share that same luck in buying a lottery ticket.
