I'm still wondering (maybe it is impossible to know) how SURE we are that all I-130'material makes it to the embassy (in my case, China). If so, is it sent small mail or scanned by USCIS and forwarded to the embassy electronically?

All the submissions find their way to consulates and embassies around the globe. Yours ought to make it as well.

Don't go looking for stress and worry.

300 pages are way overkill. How did you manage to get 300 pages?

I, too, had submitted a heavily front loaded I-130 package of 120 pages. I am recently approved.

I did cover everthing I can think of, but tried to avoid redundancies. Some of the items that I think I'd better include, but which is not critical, I print it shrinked (you can print two sheets on one side) and double sided.

I think you may be sending too much in regards to photos and how you two communicate, if skype, phone calls, or emails then pick a few from each week. And if you have quite a few photos I would go maybe 10-15 with the ones that show you two happily together on trips, possibly with the receipts, and photos of you two with family and friends.

Good luck!

Front loading is specific to China and Vietnam.

I'd pay attention to replies from folks from those 2 countries, or follow their posts over the last year.

Good Luck !

 What may be acceptable in Montreal or even Manilla will not be the same thing that is acceptable in Guangzhou. The two big debate points seem to be front loading and whether the petitioner needs to be at the interview. IMO why leave either of these as a possible issue. So front load and if at all possible show up for the interview.

You won't need to resend it to the NVC. The casefile will be forwarded from USCIS to them and they really don't do anything with it at that point. At NVC stage you will need to the fincancials for the I-864 and the beneficiary docs for the IV. You do need to bring copies of all your evidence with you to the interview. Chances are they won't go any further than the pictures and the EOR letter. That is another thing that may be specific to China, but the Evolution of Relationship letter was one thing that the VO's were reading at the interview. This and pictures are a big deal in Guangzhou. They also seem to prefer tax returns to tax transcripts.

Just to be clear. Whether it makes it there or not, it is NOT going to be read in full and YOU will have NO CONTROL over which, if any, portions of it do get read. Exercise your control now by paring it down to something reasonable by cutting 300 pages of evidence to no more than 30.

I am just wondering how did the OP manage to collect 300 pages of supporting documents. Can you elabolate what constitute those 300 pages? A thousand photos? Airplane boarding passes and hotel receipts one on each separate page?

What I did is I squeeze computer scanned images of boarding passes onto one page, put a brief text description to explain them. So if they look for them, they are there. If they don't care, fine. I also put something like 9 photos on each printed page. As for my US passport I manage to squeeze onto 8 printed pages, with all portions of my passport included, including blank pages.

I expect he's talking about evidence of communication, so has printed hundreds of pages of emails and/or chat sessions that will never be read.

If I were him, I will print out those internet chat logs using multi-sheets per page and do double sided printing, and print no more than 5 or 6 pages of paper. The letters will be so small that they can read it but barely without a magnifier. The point is to let them appreciate the volume of communication that occured, without un-necessary reveal privacy information which is irrelevant to the case.

They don't read it anyway. They just want to see that you have it.
