My workplace made news in The Washington Post today. :D

The Washington Post article

If anyone would like to see the 5-star inn where I work, this is the URL:

The Inn at Little Washington

Check out the beautiful rooms (which I have the luxury of cleaning every day...lol) and the rates of those said rooms while you're at it!

As I await for the pop-up window to pop up, are you talking about the same "Little Washington" that is about 6 miles north of Sperryville. My parents had 130 acres 1 mile north of Sperryville and about 6 miles up some back roads. Every weekend we would go through Little Washington. Now the road skirts it.

I am sorry to hear that Sharon! I hope your job is secure and the Inn stays open. I had the great fortune to go there on my 30th birthday a few years back and have dinner. Didn't stay for the accomodations, though, but I have friends who did and loved it. The food was to die for, especially the desert.

For those who have no idea what the Inn at Little Washington is, it simply is one of the best restaurants in one of the most beautiful locations in the US. And has the prices to prove it  They better not close - I am hoping that when Derek and I hit the lottery, we can go back and even stay overnight!

I think I probably ate there once or twice. My parents would treat me and my ex-wife to this wonderful restuarant in Little Washington, every so often. It is nice to see that people can live in that area and get employment. It is a very scenic area to live.

KJ, I'm not really very worried...yet anyway. We're still pulling in a full house every night and it's as if nothing has changed except the animosity between the 2 owners. (you can cut the tension with a knife)

Lucky gal, getting to eat at the place! LOL I told hubby that I might clean all the rooms but I'll never get to stay in any of the rooms...lol. As for eating there...I do that at lunch every day. The Inn gives all it's employees lunch. Not what's on the inn's menu of course, but certainly VERY nice...and FREE!

You're right about it being in a beautiful location....and it's just a mile and a half from where I live so it's real handy too!

I have some that I've taken inside the inn (sssshhhh  ) that I will share tomorrow too cuz I'm going to bed right now...lol.

I saw the Inn on the travel channel. Very cool place. I want to go someday.

Wow, wow, wow and WOW, Sharon! :) Just had a look at the website...if we ever win the lotto, we are goin' there for SURE! Since I rarely buy a ticket, though, it's doubtful... At any rate, what a beautiful~! place to work! I would love to spend a week or so there getting pampered!! :) I hope the problems sort themselves out; it's too bad about the owners no longer getting along... M.

I am completely jealous of your view! If I lean off our balcony, I can see the very tippy top of the Washington Monument from our apartment. It was great on the 4th of July, but overall is somehow not quite the same. I went to school in the Valley and loved it. Fortunately Derek does too, and our first real date was a weekend trip to Lexington.

Lucky you for getting to eat there every day! I know of more than a few people who would kill to actually eat in the kitchen and watch the chefs in action. I can only imagine what the tension is like between Patrick and Reinhardt. When I went, I met one of them (can't remember which now) and one of the dalmatians. Both seemed very nice (owner and dog) but when gay men fight, the drama (and fur) flies
