Hi everyone!!

My interview is August 2nd and my POE will be at JFK on August 12th. 10 days after my interview.

However, even though I am soooooooooo excited that I see some light at the end of the tunnel, POE makes me soooo nervous.

I'll explain why.. My entry got denied in Philladelphia, May 2010 because of the fact I couldn't show them strong ties to my home country. I flew to US before that day, and never had problems, until then.

They were screaming at me, and for some reason (in panic) I told them that Aaron and I are just friends instead of dating. Well, they surched thru my stuff and found out a card I wrote to him telling that I can't wait to spend the summer with him and that I love him.

I don't know a lot about that day anymore (it was like I wasn't there). They escorted me in the airplane and told me I have to apply for B2 Visa. I passed the interview and flew to the US a couple times after without having any problems.

Point is, normally I fly thru Pittsburgh. The Officers know me there and always make jokes with me "are you here again?", "there you are again, I know you from last time" and we all just talk.. (very small airport).

NOW, I am going to have my POE in JFK, New York. A huge airport and I just feel like I'm going to be harrassed because of the fact my entry got denied once in 2010.

But on the other hand, I passed my B2 interview, hopefully my K1 and I flew couple of times after my B2 interview. In fact, I just arrived in Holland after spending 4 months (waiting for NOA2, etc).

Are there any other peeps who got denied and made it thru their POE after a succesful K1 interview?? I'm nervous and I don't know what to expect.... :help:

I would think a big airport will be easier for you - they see so many people that they just want to keep the line moving. Of course they inspect anyone who is suspicious, but you are not suspicious - you will have a K-1 visa in your hand. Everything in the past is water under the bridge now. Relax and good luck!

Coming on a K-1 visa they know that you plan on staying. Why would they deny you entry? I suppose it's possible but why would they? The sole purpose for the visa is to come to the US to legally marry a USC. I guess unless there was some reason for them to believe it was obtained fraudulently.

The denial in 2010 shouldn't cause any problems and you have been here on a B-2 since then so I think you will be ok. You have the K-1 in hand so most of your hurdles have been overcome. The person who said that the CBP officer doesn't decide on your entry is dead wrong however. They can and do deny entry for just about any type of visa. It would be exceedingly rare for a K-1 to be denied though. Unless there is some skeleton in your closet that didn't come up during the process I wouldn't worry. Everything should be fine.

I've flown to JFK three times since last September...twice I wasn't even asked a single question, nothing. They just stamped and let me through. JFK is a breeze. :) that's why I also made it my POE, I'm flying in on the 29th August!

; thanks all!!

I seriously thought, the bigger the airport (like huge international one) the bigger the hassle or the more strict they are!!!!!

And JFK is the only airport that gives K1's an EAD stamp, right?

Yes, but that stamp is NOT actually valid for employment. You will need an EAD. That stamp is a remnant of another time and is very misleading. The updated I-9 employment eligibility form does NOT include a work stamp on a K-1 as valid for employment

It should be fine, since it will be a happy day (aug 12th): My birthday, hahaha!!

; That is soooo funny!! I <3 Dallas!!! I went there on vacation in 2008 and was there last summer too

My fiance is from Beaumont (5 hours from Dallas), some of my very good friends (known them since 2001) live there.. I'll let you know when I'm there so we can have a bite somewhere!!

Funny!! And it's your birthday & we are flying out on the same day

To see all yalls reply, there is no need for me to worry... I just need to be confident since i've got nothing to hide at all. LOVE IS GOOD! (L)

I still need to find out what the deal is with the EAD stamp. A VJ friend of mine flew thru JFK from the Netherlands and got this stamp in his passport and he is allowed to work for 90 days!!!! He even has found a job already.... Can someone explain me how this works?

It doesn't work. Your friend is working illegally. The employer obviously didn't verify his employment eligibility with the I-9 Employment Eligibility form if your friend is working. I linked the form above. If you start a thread in the AOS-family forum or search here you will find plenty of information to back up what I have said. CBP does not dole out work eligibility. They shouldn't use that stamp because it is misleading. It doesn't make you eligible to work. You can apply for an EAD if you want to work. I don't know how to say this more clearly.
