Hello,

I am trying to get some answers on this confusing question 8. My wife is filling the I-864 as my sponsor, and I am the intending immigrant. She is the only sponsor as her income is way above the 125% poverty line. Here's how we have answered question 8 so far:

Checked the box for : I am sponsoring the principal immigrant on Part 2 above

Checked the Yes box (Where we have the Yes/No option with the disclaimer - Applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors)

Were we correct in checking the Yes box since my wife is the sole sponsor? If we are correct, can someone please explain to me why we are supposed to do that? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

That is correct. She will tick box a for #1, and as you said, tick Yes for #8 because she is sponsoring you. The No option does not apply in your case.
