Racism happens frequently with people like you who suck at applying the results of "a good idea" to what happens when that good idea is adminstrated by the government. Next you'll be telling us that project housing and welfare has been great for blacks too.

Well sure there is and there is also a disproportionate amount of blacks in prison (aka, no power). Not the point. I'm not arguing that there isn't/wasn't injustices. I'm complaining about how we went about trying to fix that problem. I swear it was probably a kindergartener that came up with that god awful idea.

Is it injustice for more blacks to be in prison if more blacks commit more crime? Or is it a poverty/bad public defender thing, where more POOR are in prision? I don't have the answers, and it's a complex subject.

What part of Seattle? I grew up in Enumclaw but we did have the misfortune of playing Ranier Beach one time...

Per capita it seems like more blacks commit more crimes than whites. Is there racism in sentencing? Sometimes, I think so. I would not be surprised to learn that per capita there may be more whites committing crimes than blacks. But I better be careful because the Reading Rainbow might say I stated otherwise.

From a parallels perspective, the video has its merits in drawing interesting reactions. To parallel it in some sort of reverse racism logic is pretty lame and purposefully designed to antagonize AA laws that are quite different in scope. We've discussed that before though. Slim has made some points, which I have not disagreed with. Those things I do, I say. But there is only so much one can accomplish when he takes off on strange tangents that bear no relation to what is actually stated here. Odd.

Blacks can be racist too. Anyone can. I avoid the term reverse racism per se. I was referring to the video logic, which addresses the reverse racism whining by some around here- while completely ignoring historical reality.

That's on the North side I believe...near Mill Creek / Everett area. It's nice up there. It used to be the toolies when I was a kid and in the last twenty years it's exploded with nice houses...Boeing and Microsoft played a big role in that.

There's only so long anyone should bang on the historical drum. Yes, we can remember history, but we don't need to continually be defined by it. There was an interesting article I read many years ago, written by a therapist who was talking about a patient who was there blaming her mother for things that happened early in her life. The patient was like 70 years old or so.

Basically, the jist of the article was 'yeah, bad things happen and they suck, but there's only so long you can/should be using it as an excuse to define you and your actions for your life'
