Calling someone an ignorant racist is a blatant violation of the TOS.

How is that insulting?

Because perhaps reality has been more complex than generalizing entire communities.

So we can generalize them for the sake of getting jobs... but not for the sake of argument.

Nice!

What you lack is a clue. You belittle people on here when they show you for the uneducated jr. high school drop out that you show yourself to be.

You don't have a clue, yet you continue to post.

No, I belittle obvious cases of reading comprehension *winners*.

That last sentence was dead on. That sock puppet is a rampant racist as is affirmative action. It's blatant racism.

Have proof beyond your increasing pounding on those keystrokes? Of course you don't. I believe the only thing you're doing is antagonizing for the sake of doing so- and that also has its consequences.

Answer honestly: when you typed this, what color were the people that displayed said 'institutionalized racism'?

Answer: ironically enough, his biggest complaint was about members of the black community.

Calling someone an ignorant racist is a blatant violation of the TOS. You may not agree with what he's saying, but he didn't attack you. He's taking part in what I see as a very civilized discussion, so there's really no need to be throwing out such insults.

Try getting a clue. Calling someone a racist or making racist post. Now who's the fcking asrehole eh? I'm not the one who made the racist post, I just called out that poster for what they are...a bigot and a racist. Facts are facts and that's how it is.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Some? Some like our president?

If it's a huge, industrialized, nationwide, federal program, shouldn't it work for MOST?

And if it's so succesful, why isn't it required in ALL aspects of life?

Sure- I believe he has previously credited such policy for assisting him access the educational credentials he has earned.

I am not sure though where you're going with mandatory success. Not everyone is the same, which is why generalizing things is silly.

No, generalizing for the sake of arguing requires you make sense... and you aren't, unfortunately.

I see a lot of people who take his/her stance, but are doing so based on a skewerd sense of compassion and their opinion as to how to achieve equality. I don't think that poster is posting anything really truly racist...the content of his posts don't speak that to me. And whether I agree with his full stance or not, it's clear he's putting forth what he considers to be a rational and well thought out argument, so calling him ignorant is really only being said (imo) to offend the poster and escalate this discussion to a sh!t fling.

The poster already agreed that AA is outdated. #######, you're chasing your own tail here.

And calling someone ignorant is pretty funny when it's typed 'your ignorant'. ;)

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Your point is well taken, too. I believe many blacks have tragically internalized the institutionalized racism and allowed it to fester into a self-defeating mechanism to perpetuate their own lack of success. Its sort of a subcultural barrier counter to their own advancement, one that has served the interests of racism in this country to this day.

If generalizing things is silly and not everyone is the same.... why would we need a program for "a certain group" of people?

calling him ignorant

Is not an insult. Ignorance isn't a negative thing.

Calling someone a racist could be seen as a negative... unless you're black and calling someone white a racist. Then it's perfectly acceptable.

Ever wonder where they got that idea?

Do you think it would be easier or more difficult for "them" to get rid of this image without someone constantly telling them they were inferior and "needed" help?

I think saying it's not an insult, considering the source, is a bit of a stretch.

I don't know of one situation where being called 'ignorant' is not negative.

The bolded bit of your post had me lolling. Agreed, btw.

Actually Zero uses this line of attack as much as anyone, it's laughable that he could call foul when someone returns it.

Years ago the term "racist" had some meaning, today it is used so often and with such wide degree of meaning.... it's fast becoming meaningless.

So if somone posts something on here that someone else doesn't like or agree with we can construe it as an insult?

I don't know of one situation where being called 'ignorant' is not negative.

It can have negative implications but someone who is ignorant, by definition, cannot be at fault and therefore it's not a negative to call someone ignorant. People often use it as an insult but by very definition, it cannot be since someone ignorant of something has no dog in the hunt. They simply do not know.

In this particular instance, I think WM is ignorant of what the word truly means, because I feel it was meant as a pejorative.

What I'm saying is, calling someone an 'ignorant racist' really does nothing to promote conversation. Disagree all you want. Name calling does nothing to help that.

Saying that, I am guilty myself of getting personal, and I really don't know the history of this poster....but in this instance, it was unwarranted.
