I GOT THE VISA!!!!!!!!! They did the medical and interview the same day here in naples.....

We arrived at 8 in the morning and we waited about 10 mins at the gate before they let us in. It wa shocking....we had to wait 1 hour at room 11, then theycalled my name and told me I had to go upstairs at 2nd floor for the medical. The doctors were very nice to me....they took my chest Xray, blood sample at first. After that they called me for the physical examination.....no problem. I just got scared when, after the medical, I saw the 2 doctors talking to each other about my medical  (I knew it was my folder because it had the pic of me on it) and God I started to be impatient. We waited another hour for the vaccination...I only had to do one (MMR) and I didn't pay a lot of money for it...THaNK GOD!!!!

At 11 30 I finally got my shot and I was sent to the first floor again. My husband had disappeared, he was outised smoking a stupid cigarette while I had to carry all my stuff and all his as well  uhmmm.....

The interview was awesome.......God!!!! A black girl called my name I just rushed there at the glass window with my chest Xray and pictures documents, cards I don't even know what the hell I had in my hands ehehhe :star: Anyways, she said she was doing a check up to see if we had al the documents and stuff. She was terrible to us. We dind't have the birth certificate with both of my parents' names we had a normal birth certificate and a baptismal certificate. My birth certificate was perfect, valid just didn't have my parents' names. We told her that we had actually thought about it, that's why we brought a baptismal certif. along with the other birth certificate. They even tell you on the instructions that the baptismal certificate is the best second possible evidence. She said "this is not valid" I don't know what I felt. I just looked at my husband like "Im gonna kill her!!" Thank God I had a copy of a document (in italy is called "stato di famiglia") that shows that I'm my parents' daughter. She took it and she said "This is not good, but I don't know we see what we can do here". Then she got the other documents and the affidavit of support (I134). She said to wait in there untill the officer would come to finish our interview. Alright.

While waiting, I kept looking at her and she was messing up with my documents for I don't know 10 mins maybe. She accurately checked the I134 and she kept shaking her head like to say "no no its not good". I was scared as hell, but I knew she was not supposed to be the person who makes the final decision on my case. Jesus, time never passed. She saw that on the I134 the notarization date was dec 31rst and she went all way to the other room to see what day was today!!!! Gosh!! After that the consular office called my name. I don't get along with women very much, especially women who work at consulates. My officer, thank God, was a guy. A sweet one. :P he opened the folder and he starting asking question:

1. What's your name?

2. What's your birthday?

3. How did you guys meet?

I told him we met over the internet because Mike was in iraq and I was in Rome and he didn't even pay anymore attenton to me, he just started to talk to mike:

4. Were you in the Army? How long were you there?

5. What are you planning to do in the States?

And he even smiled when my husband told him he'd like to be a truck driver sinc ehe was one in the Army. ;)

then he was on me again:

6. Where did you guys get married? I told him everything so perfect. ahahha

Then he checked the I129F approved and he opened the yellow envelope and he showed me the pic of me and Mike's family on my wedding day in Ohio 2 years ago. I sent that pic to along with thne I129F as a proof of a bona fida marriage and the NVC sent it back here to Naples!! When I saw that pic (I had thought I would have never seen it again) I laughed. He asked me where we took that pic. I said in ohio and he asked me if it was a small wedding. I messed up I wa slikr " yes very small. Weonly had his parents because my husband ehhhhh I got so confused I kept doing ehehhhhhhhhhh for 3 mins straight and he wa slooking at me verystrange. I corrected myself "Ehhh....my father, my father is scared of flying. My mom not, my father" I don't know what the heck was going on right there :D

He just smailed at me and said the fantastic words: "we'll be able to print your Visa today. Come back at 4. Thank you for using the Conslates service and - that was for Mike - thanks for serving the army"

Done, it was done. Its 130pm here...I am going back to naples to get my Visa in 2 hours and a half!!!! :D

Congrats, Maria! I'm so glad you were able to do it all in one day! Wow, are you heading back to Rome tonight? You've GOT to stay in touch once you move to Ohio. It's probably not far for all 4 of us to meet up :) ... Now you've got the exciting and sad process of packing up, settling accounts, etc. before coming here. Wow, I'm so happy for you.
