My case was completed at the NVC on June 21st and I got my interview date at the consulate on Aug 23rd (2 long months wait). I got the interview appointment letter in email with details of the interview, documents to be presented and medical examination details.

1. Would the NVC/consulate be sending me any more packets before the interview? If then, would it be sent to my agent(my wife) or to me.

2. The NVC line - 603-334-0700 gives me the status that the case has been completed at the NVC. Is there any way to know whether it has reached the consulate?

3. Is there any possibility to change the interview to an earlier date? Two months is too long!

Oops - Chennai interview is now 2 months. We will be behind you hopefully in another month.

Your agency ends with NVC process and Chennai Consulate will send your spouse an email with all details.

Use this link to get Chennai consulate details - http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=India&cty=Chennai

I heard about postphonement of interviews but about prephonement. Try your luck and all the best.

You can always try, but to be honest most embassies say it will be an average wait of 6 weeks from CC to interview, so yours may just be a bit easier right now.

doesnt hurt to ask though

Total time from posting I-130 to VISA in hand 7 months 21 days :D
