Hi all,

I got a strange phone call this morning (@ 07:30) from the Nairobi US Consulate asking me to go back and have my fingerprints taken.

I already had my K1 visa interview on May 31st and June 2nd 2011 and erroneously got denied then told off i need an I-601 waiver.

I was very sure that i meet all the requirements of INA 212(A)(ii).... which the Consulate customer reps had and still have no clue about. Even after explain n showing them the extracts of the law!!..(they actually prepare and print all these denial letters then the C.O just passes them on...."i got served" !!

Anyhow together with ma fiancée we got in touch with an immigration attorney in a bid to file for an advisory opinion regarding my case. It’s been 3 weeks today and our attorney has never got any response back .Now that i have (secretly..no email) been called back, here below are my few qns

1. What are these fingerprints needed for as i already had those taken when i had my interview

2. What should i expect... another interview?? (Am planning on taking all my original documents as i did before)

3. Should i take more new evidence that I’ve gathered since the last interview ( Like emails, chat logs etc)?

Thnx

I don't know that anybody has any answers as to why the consulates do things the way they do... for us it was that they didnt want to accept my 401k which is not even job related...but other embassies and consulates accept it so it just varies.

As for your upcoming appointment... take it all!!! dont waste a minute preparing...they could be doing a second lengthy interview so go prepared for the worst and hope for the best. Take everything new as well...and yes take your documents too. I pray for good news from this new appointment.

best of luck

1. ? who knows, just go do it if you want the VISA

2. My guess is there will be no interview

3. They have already made a decision that is why they are contacting you, just go do

the next thing they ask you and stop trying to over think it. If they would have wanted evidence they would have asked for it, they want fingerprints.

Come back and post what happened when you were done.

I'm really sorry :( I have no advice for that consulate...

You may want to repost this as your own thread... you will get better responses that way... I would repost in the regional section so the ppl from that country can respond.
