Ami&Chigs, well you are right in a way. we are definitely grateful for getting approvals in 3 months when a few others are still waiting beyond 5 months time. I am sure those guys are doing what all they can do in order to get their cases approved quickly - you can only do what is in your hands.

Since I get a berth in a train journey and sleep well, I don't start walking from my destination station to my home. I will have to try to get a taxi/ auto to go comfortably home from the station. That is life buddy.

Now all we are trying to do what we can do in this next step within our hands - call the automated message daily and occationally contacting a live person to find out. Of course the next option is to send an email with copy of NOA2 and other details after 15 business days (that is the proceedure).

Bottomline is "We need to do what we can and are able to rather than waiting for somthing to happen."

USA

Please don't flame me for posting the following but I'd like to point something out to those who were approved in June time frame above and have waited less than 5 months between NOA1 and NOA2.

CSC is already fast enough in approving these petitions. There is a slight delay in getting these approved petitions to the NVC. I know the timeframe is a bit out of normal. I don't think its completely out of the ordinary for these applications to be forwarded to the NVC with a delay.

Bottom line is that up until a few months ago (when I filed), I was ready and prepared for a 6+ months time between the NOA1 and NOA2. Its alway easy to gripe about something than to be patient. I think if we all show a bit of patience even while dealing with these delays, it will make the journey that much more pleasant.

Some of you have overcome that hurdle in less than 3 months. Please be thankful for that. We may never understand what is happening at the CSC which is adding to the delay. But nevertheless, I too hope that the cases move to the NVC quickly, now that the petitions are approved.

well im not flaming you but i am complaining about waiting over 15 days since i waited 7 months for my approval for my I-130..and i think we have waited long enough for them to do something and me a US citizen..i was told today to send approval letter and to send it to nvcresearch@state.gov..not the inquiry email..so u guys might want to try that!! good luck to all no matter how fast you were approved..i hold no grudge (L)

Your analogy is flawed. Getting a taxi / auto is upto you and you alone. You can push and push as much as you want but you can't ultimately claim that it was your pushing that lead the CSC to forward the petition to the NVC. Collectively pushing them definitely helps, getting your Senator, etc. involved also helps but again, ultimately it is beyond your control. These measures are there for you in the event that you are "stuck" in the in between phase. But its not necessarily a given that applying these means, will get you a taxi/auto to get home from the station.

All I am trying to say is that patience in, your case, will make you a bit more clear headed and allow you to optimize your chances in getting your petition to the NVC by knocking on the right doors and having the right words to say.

marjus' girl,

my prayers are with you in getting your case there. my original statement was simply aimed at those who have had the pleasure of their petitions approved within the 3-3.5 months period. You are not one of them. I would be the most happiest to see your petition through at the embassy as earliest as possible. Please don't get me wrong, one way or another, we are in the same journey. Its just that we are at different stages in the journey.

Cheers.

I called USCIS today and spoke to a tier 2 operator. I was told that the NVC has to request USCIS send the files. If you've waited longer than 15 business days and your case isn't in NVC hands, email a copy of your NOA2 to nvcresearch@state.gov with your USCIS receipt number in the subject line.

Ami&Chigs,

You missed the point. Getting a taxi/ auto is a deliberate and positive act on my part. And so is sending an email to NVC after 15 business days. The bottom line is one needs to be proactive in doing what one permitted do in a given circumstance. If I don't send an email, then I won't be using an option provided to me by NVC, which is not wise.

Your response "You are not one of them" sent to "marjus's girl" clarifies your position. Thanks for reminding us to be patient.

I think that all of us are very grateful for the fact we got our NOA2's so quickly, but can you blame us for getting excited when we see the 'NOA2-to-NVC' timelines' of others. I think it is the excitement of this stage and expectations that it will happen very quickly that makes us a little more inpatient. I was prepared to wait longer for an NOA2, but once I got it, I expected things to be quicker... I was just very excited for it all to happen, which I'm sure everyone else is too.

Also, for those waiting for the NVC to get your cases from the California Service Center; they just got mine on Friday and I got my NOA2 June 10th. So I'm sure they will get others very soon too. If not they told me that you can send an email to NVCresearch@state.gov with your receipt # on the subject line with a scanned copy of your approval letter.

If we are able to be of little help to others it is good. The objective of this forum is that and let's all do that. Shoot out a question or two if anyone has on anything related to the immigration process (of course in the appropriate thread) and let's share our experineces and some helpful information.

I wish all of you the very best in getting your approvals/ NVC Case #/ Interviews.

We are thankful in getting it in 3 months or less times.

This journey is a proactive one, if you sit back, relax and do nothing your in it for the long haul.

I find it perfectly fine that people are wanting to know why it's taking so long for this step (myself included). We have yet to find a concrete response. No matter what operator they have spoken to, it has been different. Processing should not have major hiccups like this if it was ran smoothly. We know this is not the case.

If I am able to speed up my file by a couple of days, well I gosh darn will do my dang best to get it done...if you choose to be patient and relaxed in this process that is your choice...but for me and the majority, they are going to take the stride's I am taking.

To each their own...

There is nothing wrong with doing everything you can within the system to get your case worked on... If the process was transparent I would have no sympathy for complainers - for example if I could go to a website and see my case in the queue and see that I am 4323 in the queue at USCIS.. then the next day 4120.. etc, etc.. When the hand-off was made to the NVC (a hand-off between USCIS and NVC that has no limbo state for approvals) so that there is no doubt about where my file is *now* and what state it is currently in "waiting for queue" or "waiting for background check" etc.. Instead what we have are various black holes where nobody is responsible so they can point fingers and ignore and solve you 15 day problem by having you email yet another invisible queue..

The current problem is causing a lot of grief (at least for me) because I *expected* USCIS to be 4-5 months. I set my wife up with that expectation.. No problems.. Then when it came through a little early (a few weeks) I set the expectation that hey.. maybe September is doable - the rest of the timeline was able to be estimated. Now everyday I probably sound like the NVC operator - no information, just more delays for I don't know how long.

I would just like to know why the delays and what is the new expectation.. There are still way more going out of California that the NVC is adding so while it is only a month today it may be six weeks backed up a month from now.. Then again they could be back to normal. I just wish they would communicate it so we could set expectations and plan appropriately.

Call up your embassy. I did have the same problem as you and it turns out my petition was already at the embassy, even tho i heard no word from NVC for a month. USCIS sent my petition to NVC on june 7th. It seems that everyone from start to mid june has this problem. So just call up your embassy, im 90% sure your petition is there already. They do process it at NVC quite quickly, but they are late with sending NOA to you. So call up your embassy, your petition should be there already.

She filed an I-130, not an I-129 (an IR-1/CR-1, not a K-1) - the NVC step is much more involved. More forms/money/documents are required before going to the embassy.
