Such a thing as too much proof?

Hi all,

I have collected A LOT of things as proof of having met my fiance and proof of an ongoing relationship.

I have a lot of paperwork, including phone records, text records, calling card records and bank statements, plane tickets, envelopes and mailings, photos, and facebook chat conversations. All of these records span over a 5 month period so I have accumulated a lot of paper.

Is it possible to provide too much paperwork to the point that it becomes a detriment to the case?

Thanks!

Should I just include a range rather than everything? Or is it better safe to provide everything, than sorry to not provide enough?

A range is fine. Throwing a gazillion pages at the USCIS adjucator seems like a bit much cause at this stage the goal is to show that you have met within the two years. Also I can imagine it can slow your processing down cause they will probably have to comb thru it all to look for red flags. At the interview stage you can load your fiance with new ongoing relationship evidence for the interview.

Good luck.

Someone was recently issued a HUGE RFE and were really confused about it because they'd already submitted what they were asked for.. in a HUGE parcel of information. Moral of the story - too much info CAN confuse things. There is no relationship evidence required for the K1 petition, it's only required at the interview stage. only evidence of having met in the last 2 years is required to be with the K1 petition however recently they have been asking for some relationship evidence.

Good luck!

I sent in a lot of stuff, but I organized it with title pages and sectioned them off so they wouldn't have to sort through it. Do you think it will be a problem? It did turn out to be around 1.5 inches thick. But I thought it would be ok because I organized it so they could trash/skip over anything that wasn't needed

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

AS was stated earlier you do not need to provide proof of relationship until the interview. Some people do recommend front loading the petition. I have seen some say that the interview is not the time they would want to submit new evidence. 1.5 inches probably isn't too much as long as you have what is required and it is organized. Sounds like you have both nailed.

Obviously I have not viewed your packet but it sounds like all is in order so I wouldn't worry about it being too much.

Ok, thanks. When I was doing it, I didn't know, so I can't really do anything about it now, but I guess it will be fine. :)

Keep all the documentation you have, take everything to interview. Have a range ofn documentation for presentation both written and in person, if during the interview they want more you have it.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

I would say for 129F package yes. I would include only several pics and primary evidence such as passport stamps and hotel receipts, airline tickets, sample e-mails and phone bills etc. Given all that, I would keep ALL the evidence you have for actual interview. You never know what they will ask for. Just make sure you organize it well so you could retrieve it fast.

Are chat logs absolutely necessary, if there are tons of emails, 75 photos (lots of photos with both sides of the family), evidence from my trip to see him where i spent 2 months with his family and him? We use skype but we don't chat, mostly it's video calls and calls on gmail chat. I'm not sure how to get the log. My question is, could they give me a hard time just because of this one thing, even though there's tons of other evidence?

PS my interview file is more than 2 inches thick and really heavy already. Lol.

In I129F package I included:

1) Primary evidence for each visit;

2) Sample pics, one pic from each meeting in person

3) One page representative e-mails

4) One phone bill with her phone number

The rest, literally suitcase of evidence I brought to my fiancee for actual interview. She used none but literally, it was a suitcase. I 129F package I submitted only what I listed. Just make sure it is organized so well that if any document is requested you could pull out within 5 seconds.
