hi, im july filler my GC will expire on oct.28,2011, I moved here in california from hawaii last march 2010 and i send AR11 change of address to uscis,but my former landlord in hawaii called me yesterday he said that i have a letter coming from uscis he received that letter last june 22,2011.

he told me that he will sent that letter to me on monday July 11, im so worried why i received a letter from uscis and why they used my old address, i just thinking that this letter is only a reminder that my GC will expire soon. are you guys received a reminder letter from uscis before your green GC expired? if not, what is the content of this letter.thank you

Not to worry, it is most likely a reminder letter. Don't worry about it being sent to your old address either, this seems to happen frequently. As long as you file your I-751 with your new address all correspondence will come to you at the new address. Good luck.

it's notorious for not sending out address updates to the other mail-room operations that generate the letter you've received.

Don't sweat it, file the ROC in that 90 day window, you'll be fine.

They used you old address because it can take 4-5 months to update the change. Since the letter arrived at your old address before you filed for RoC it is likely a reminder letter for you to file for RoC.

Our change of address had been filed at least a year. The ROC reminders always go to the address the original greencard was sent to it seems. The person that bought my house called and said he had been delivered to her. I don't believe the reminders are tied into the regular USCIS database.
