Advance parole

Hey VJs, this maybe fits better in a the Post K-1 forum, but I am still in the K-1, so here it goes:

As it looks now, my fiancee would be coming to the US about mid to end of August, the plan right now is that we'd marry in early September and I'll file AOS immediately (12-15th of September). I will be also filing for advance parole, as we had planned to go on a trip out of the country by November 18-20 (business trip for me, but I'd hate to leave her alone for 2 weeks).

Checking the processing times, it seems that at least 2 months is what this advance parole takes. Since I need to get tickets at least 1 month before traveling, it just looks like not going to happen.

Any feedback from anyone about getting an Infopass and expedite this??

Is there any chance that depending on where you file, it is faster? (I am in Texas)

You may just squeak by with getting it in time, however that is a huge maybe so you'd be shelling out money for a ticket knowing she may not be able to travel.

Once you file your papers, make the Infopass appointment ASAP. However, expediting is generally done for emergency purposes, so know that chances are it will be denied. Can't hurt to try, though.

Thanks. Not to complain, but the delays at VSC is what got us to this. Emergency it is not, except if we account that leaving her alone (she does not know how to drive, I have no one in the city we will be that can help if I am not around, I'll be out for 2 weeks) is an 'emergency'. DO you know what is considered an emergency?

I don't have any personal experience with it, but from what I've seen just on these boards for what has been approved and what has been denied, things like funerals, family illnesses, and other serious matters like that are considered emergencies, while 'pleasure' trips (even including one's own wedding) are not. But no harm in trying!
