I left the U.S. in May to visit my family. Being a foreign exchange student in 2009/2010 I didn't have to worry about paperwork. This year I came on my own and when boarding for my flight to Frankfurt the people at the gate just scanned my boarding pass and that's it. I just read that I am required to surrender my I-94.

My I-94 doesn't have a date on it and my visa is supposed to expire next year. I am going back to the states Tuesday and am not sure what to do with my I-94. I am gonna have problems reentering?

Thank you

If you're still in the student status you will get a new I-94. At the border, make sure to hand over your old I-94 and explain what happened.

you have the tickets and stamps on your passport from home ocuntry when you entered your home country.

When you enter back you will get a new I-94 as the form would be given to you on the flight and when you see the immigration officer give him your old i-94 and let him know when you left airline did not take old i-94 from you.
