hey all

a couple of simple book-keeping questions on my I-130 and I-485 package submission.

1. Since there are separate packages (for the I-130 and I-485), do I place them in separate envelopes, or in one big envelope?

2. There is a lot of duplication between both packages: for example a G-325A in both packages. Do I have to include a separate G-325A in each package, or can I just place a reference to either one?

Thanks- this forum's been a brilliant resource to date. I'll keep you apprised how I do!

Tom

Even though they are filed together, think of each application as something that needs to be able to "stand alone" - i.e. if they were to be separated and send to different people at USCIS, both applications (I-130 and I-485) need to have everything attached to them that is listed in their respective instructions. So everything that is required for both, like the G-325, passport photos, copies of your passport and visa, etc. needs to be included separately with each application. We put ours in separate folders, and then those folders in one envelope. Both had a separate cover sheet listing what was included in each application/petition.
