I'll accept facts if you have them.

When you say "tax revenues are at historic lows" with this hugely sluggish economy how could that not be true?

Are you really that slow or are you playing a numbnut? Federal tax revenues average just over 18% of GDP. At this point, they're at 14.8% - just 0.4% higher than they were at their last low back in 1950. So, these revenues are about 3.5% of GDP (that's roughly $500BN p.a.) below their historic average. Add to that federal expenditures being about 3% above their historic average (another $500BN p.a.) and all of a sudden you have a $1 trillion above average deficit. That deficit, as I have just shown, is NOT a spending only problem, it's a problem equally caused by excessive spending and by lack of revenues. Those are the facts and you could look them up pretty easily if you were interested in facts. Which, of course, you're not.

Dude. Dog. Whatever. Did you take your meds today? It is possible to discuss politics without going personal. Maybe take a break? Check your blood pressure?

Did I take my meds? In the same post where you ask me whether I can do w/o going personal? Apparently you can't. FWIW, I neither take any meds nor do I need any. What confuses you about a bit of reality and fact being infused into P&R threads?

Modern medical science can improve our lives. Mental health is important.

Yes, I prefer slow growth that is *real* to the illusory debt-driven growth that we've "enjoyed" over the past 30 years.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

The previous machines that drove the economy no longer work and while there is one viable option (Green Economy), there is too much opposition by the Do-Nothings to really get it going. It's there and it's running, but too slow to make enough of a difference. Millions of jobs await Washington to pull it's head of its ####### and see the forest for the trees.

The green economy will create jobs elsewhere - Europe, Asia and South America, specifically. We could have had them here but we prefer not lead anymore but rather descent into a true Banana Republic. One with a global Sheriff Star, that is.

If the RWN's continue to throw a monkey wrench in our economy and things continue to worsen here, I will seriously consider looking to move to Canada. I don't want stay on a sinking ship.

It's sad to see this happen to what once was truly the greatest nation on earth with ambition and vision. This once great nation has been turned into a me, me, me club of whiners. Sad, really.

Millions of jobs doing what? What does it say about the cost of "green energy" if you suddenly need millions of people to produce it?

Good point.

I hate to say it and I hope they build it faaaaaaar from the NYC metro area but I do think nukular is the way to go. We have vast expanses of nothing in this country (Nevada, the Dakotas, Alaska, etc.) so build out there. Lots of room and lots of tolerance for accidents.
