I am so sorry if I am in the wrong section of discussion. I am a US citizen through my marriage and we are trying to file for divorce. The divorce is simply based on some mismatches – disagreements. Basically there is no fight – arguments or big things that has happened, NO. it’s just a peaceful divorce.

The question I have was if we walk into our local courthouse and sign the paper works, I read about having a different address meaning each person (xhusbands and xwife) must have different address and I live with a bunch of friends at this time, Do not have a permanent physical address at this time. Can I ask them to send whatever paper they are sending me to my xwife’s address? She does not have an issue with that. Do you all think this will cause an issue?

Thanks!

I don't imagine so. Can't you have papers served on one of your friends? Rent a mailbox if the court gives you grief. Put a box number on your wife's mailing address and have her do the same. That should solve the problem in the interim.

if you are already a USCitizen,

then USCIS won't care about the addresses .

The court might care.

PO BOX RENTAL is cheap, suggest you get one on a year's rental, on Monday.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
