ok i called DOS Thursday and would like some thoughts pls.

I asked if our documents were submitted into system and she said they were so I asked if the embassy would let us know if our documents were accepted. She said no they will not contact you if they accepted the documents but only if they need more documents otherwise they will contact u to pick up visa. So then i asked her to explain our ap since weve never done this bfore so she said at AP is administrative processing which your ap is checking your documents submitted once that is complete the visa will be issued.

Is this good since she didnt mention background checking? I know they do some background checks prior to the arrival of the applicant and i know that if there is a name hit they definitely do more ...so do i dare hope that his name was clear and nothing came up for that part of AP? and that all we are truly waiting on is verifying the latest documents?... im sure we will see ap for many more weeks but praying it wont be 8 months to a year long...

pls any thoughts?

I think its reasonable from country of origin to accept the fact that security checks will be done and hope they won't take long, but there is really no way of knowing the time frame on these. It looks from the profile pic you are both quite young which is probably a good thing for the security checks. Good luck

Yeah we didnt expect to escape AP but considering they kept his passport and the DOS agent told me they were verifying docs and didnt say anything about background checks (i know they do them before he has interview and if something is flagged i know that takes a while) just looking for a glimmer of hope that our ap wont take more than 2-3 months and that we will celebrate our first anniversary together not on skype!! :(
