Hey all,

I submitted my OPT application to NSC on April 20. On June 26, I received a mail from NSC requiring me to send two recent photos. I mailed out the photos using USPS Priority mail that night and the tracking record showed that the photos was delivered on June, 29. However, it has been almost 10 days, and there is no status update on the USCIS website indicating that they have received my materials. Is this a normal situation? I just researched some previous cases and it usually takes two days for USCIS to change the case status to "your materials have been received". I am really worried. I do not know if the USCIS has lost my materials or not... I tried to call the customers service today but it is just useless...

Any information is appreciated!

First of all you need to take a deep breath. No changes on the USCIS website means nothing because they probably doing your papers right now.

Thanks for your response! It is just my company wants to start work as soon as possible and I really need the EAD card...So USCIS does not update status promptly I guess...

Dude do you think USCIS has someone just for your case? Chill out depending on the work load they would update the status, for you - you have confirmation that they received the package.

Lately USCIS is taking some extra time for giving out OPTs... I believe from what I have heard and seen on here it is taking 3+ month to get OPT.

hey guys, here is an update on my case:

I called on July 6 to expedite my case and received an email saying"We received your request to expedite the decision on your application. Your case is currently under review. You will receive a decision or notice of further action shortly."

But still, there is no status update on the USCIS website indicating that they have received my materials. Does successful expedition suggest that my materials are complete because otherwise they will reject my application for expedition?

Thanks!

Hello,

I have been in the same case as stated above. I did call the customer care and expedited my request and received an email saying " Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 30 days of the date of this letter."

What does this mean? Should I do any thing further to fasten my processing and also How long it may take to get the OPT card. My emloyer want me to join the coming monday. I am not sure what to do? I would really appreciate if any one could help me with a reply.

Thanks,

Mean you got to wait for 30 days that the time required for them to make the decision either yes or no.

You cannot start until the decision comes.

But does that mean that my expedite process is approved?????? They never asked me for any proof...though I did sent my offer letter by email to the them.

There is no such thing as expedited process approved or not, I am not sure if they charged you to expedite the process if they did then all they do is bring your file to the front.

Sending offer letter would not change anything either, unless the reason as lifethreatning USCIS never expedites anything.

All I can say is wait until you hear from USCIS or you can check with your school's DSO and he can provide you an insite about whats going on will all the other applicants who filed for OPT same time you did.

once i submitted the RFE documents and there was no update from UScis. I really worried and called USCIS 2-3 times at the 3rd time i got a mail from uscis that they havn't received my documents .meanwhile i realized i have not submitted my original copy of RFE . here my question is

1. i have only 10 days for my deadline to submit the RFE?

2. do they consider this late submission?

3. my 1st documents set and 2nd documents set make (them & me ) confuse

and any chance of negative impact?
