Hi fellow VJers,

This might seem like a silly question, but I would like to know which pictures that I submit will be the one that eventually ends up on the Green Card (I filed DCF for IR-1 Visa at a Consulate abroad). Is it the one I am supposed to bring with me to the interview at the Consulate? If so- how do these pictures ever make their way into the system in the U.S.- will they be inside the Myseterious Brown Envelope that I will give at the POE, and get entered into the electronic system at POE? The other options I can think of is that my wife also submitted a picture of me when she filed the I-130 as part of my G-325A form, OR that they will take a picture of me at the POE which will go straight into their electronic database and eventually be printed on my GC.

I am asking because, even though my interview was months ago, I forgot to bring pictures with me that day (silly me!!) and still need to submit them. (I have been waiting for my RCMP document this whole time anyways, so the pictures haven't delayed me at all- now that my RCMP doc has arrived, I will submit the pictures together with it.) I already have some passport pictures but I look AWFUL in them, and don't want to use them if they will end up on my GC- after all, I will be showing my GC to prospective employers. So I would go and get new ones done. But if they will use my previous G-325A picture- or take one of me at the POE- and these interview ones are just for their office use, then I won't spend the time and money to have new ones made.

If anyone knows which pictures are used it could be a help!! And thanks to all VJers out there!!

In my case, They used the ones I sent with my application to the National Visa Center NVC.

They asked few more at the time of interview, but those were returned to me.

The photos were in the brown envelope, and the officer at the POE completed some information and he mentioned the package was to be sent to the Prosessing centre in Texas. He also mention the GC could come in about 2 to 4 months.

I got a GC two weeks after I enter the US.

Thanks for the reply!!

So, since I did DCF, I never went through the NVC at all, so that part doesn't apply to me... but my guess is they will use either my interview ones OR the ones my wife submitted with my G-325A at time of I-130 filing, since you weren't photographed at POE. Any DCFers out there know which of these 2 it would be?

Thanks!

Going to move your thread to the DCF forum, where you'll get more answers. Not many Canadians going the DCF route. :)

Thanks Krikit, I guess you're right... I didn't really think this was a DCF-question until I got an answer. Hope I get more answers...

Just out of curiosity though- why are there not many Canadians doing the DCF route? It is the fastest way for them, as it is for anyone eligible...

I don't think everyone is eligible. I believe the USC has to be a permanent resident of Canada for at least 6 months to be eligible. I've noticed that there are more fiancée type situations here so they couldn't go the dcf route.

And I tell ya, it's a bit frustrating that there are not many Canadians going DCF because it's REALLY hard to find answers, LOL!

I try not to read too much on IR1/CR1 boards (we would be IR1) because some of the things they have to do, I don't. So then my mind gets worried thinking I missed a step, but really I didn't. As it is right now, I just had my interview on Tuesday, the domicile issue was a bit tricky but we were approved. However, 2 things are bothering me at the moment: #1 domicile gave us a bit of hard time so I'm worried that we have gone into Administrative Processing for additional proof even though she said we were approved...and #2 I brought my 2 photos with me at the interview and no one asked for them. I had to give 3 for the medical, I wonder if 2 of those were already for the interview???? Who knows. Yeesh.
