Hello again VJ! :)

Will have my interview soon and I'm just wondering if a pedal shorts is okay to wear during the interview? :unsure:

Any replies are greatly appreciated. :)

Nov. 2010: CRBA and US passport application sent(via Air21)

Dec. 08, 2010: Interview(DNA was recommended)

April 04, 2011: CRBA and US passport on hand

April 2011: SSN Application sent (mailed original docs thru 2GO)

April 29, 2011: SSN card on hand

My K1 Visa Journey

March 05, 2011: I-129F packet sent

March 14, 2011: NOA1

May 20, 2011: NOA2(approved in 67 days from NOA1, with no RFEs)

June 24, 2011: NVC received approved petition from USCIS

June 29, 2011: Approved original petition left NVC to US Embassy-Manila

July 15, 2011: Eligibility letter received from US Embassy-Manila(dated July 11, 2011)

October 26 - June 5, 2012: SLEC trap!!! (DOT tx to vaccine administration)

June 7, 2012: Interview (APPROVED!) :)

June 18, 2012: Visa picked up at the embassy

June 20, 2012: POE in Detroit

i havent seen applicants at the embassy wearing pedal shorts during our interview :unsure:

You should wear appropriately for the interview. Smart casual or business attire would be the appropriate dress code for that.

Jan 30, 2012 - RFE/Checklist for I-864

Feb 01, 2012 - Mailed the IRS tax transcripts to NVC

Feb 03, 2012 - Case complete!!!

Mar 26, 2012 - Issued VISA :)Thank you Lord!

Mar 30, 2012 - Visa Received!!! You are the best LORD!

Ok guys thanks for the replies! Been to a tourist visa interview before and I was wearing a business attire and I'm not really comfortable wearin' that.. So, maybe I will just wear a formal casual then.. Thanks for the ideas! :)

Hi, please dress properly. Wear something formal, black pants and blouse ( not a revealing one) and choose light color. Wearing formal attire will be additional points for you likewise it begets respect from you and respect to the consul as well. Hope this helps. Have a good one.

Rmember you are going to the embassy. You can wear what you wish, no dress code. However, sometimes "dress to impress" means something especially to embassy people. Even though it may be 90F and humid. I still plan on wearing a suit.

I thought flip flops were the code of the philippines as well as sandals. rubber or velcro flipflops or sandals, daily wear, leather and wood flipflop and sandals are considered dressy with the open toes and painted toenails.

wearing heels on a beach might not work too well......

True in general, but the interviews are not conducted on the beach. Flip flops on the beach, normal. Flip flops in a semi-formal government interview... not so normal.

Exactly :) Why wear flip-flops? The embassy is not a beach or a wet market. Business casual will do. I'm planning to wear pants (black slacks or dark denim skinny jeans) with blouse or spaghetti strap with a cardigan, and a flat/doll shoes. It's comfy and it's presentable. Flashing too much of flesh will make you look like someone who works in a bar. And yes, definitely not flip-flops.

Denim pants and blouse are fine. what important is you know how to answer correctly what are the questions the consul would ask you.
