I Have a question After we waited since oct we finally got the letter on june 13 (there was an extra month when req proof of evidence) (passport picture) stating that the visa was approved, now its gone to embassy for futher instructions. My question is wld there be a reason why my process is taking so long when i hear other peoples going through everything in the 3-6 mths t/f, or is that Just how jamaica is now and also How long does it normally take for him to get his letter and do I get any notification cause hes having sum trouble with mail system. I thought we was close to the end it still seems like we still in the middle of it. But God is good

It depends.. every country has a different case load. Some people have expidite requests (military for example). Then sometimes it can depend on the officer working the case. You are right though.. God IS good, and His faith will see you through!

The petition was approved, will go through NVC and then on the the Embassy.

At some point, there will be a packet 3 with the visa application forms.

Take a look here - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?autocom=custom&page=k1flow

You'll see where you are in the process.

Your visa has not been approved. Your I-129F petition was approved. Your visa will be approved at embassy.

It does sound like your I-129 petition was approved not your visa. Once you received the NOA2 contact the Department of State to find our where your petition is (NVC, emnassy, etc.). When you have confirmed that the petition is at the embassy submitted a signed DS230 part I, this is your request for an interview date. Check out the Jamaica portal there is a wealth of information about the process and specfic details as it relates to Jamaica.

Best.

PS My fiance and I never received any on the packets! Packet three contained the DS 230 Part 1 (I got that from the internet). Packet 4 -- requested that it be sent via email. Depending where your fiance/husband lives you can request (via email) an appointment to pick up the packet.

PSS There is no rhyme or reason to the time frame...sorry

I'm in agreement with the others. It was your i-129 that was approved. If I understand correctly, that letter you received should be the one with your case number on it. You can contact Dept of State 202.663.1225. Get a human on the line and they should be able to tell you the status of the case.

Also, like Brownie my fiance never received any packets in the mail. We emailed as well as mailed over a copy of the DS-230 to the embassy after receiving the letter, and we had to email SEVERAL times in order to get packet 4 via email.
