HAS ANYONE EVER HAD A REVIEW AT THE NVC FOR ANY LOST DOCUMENTS. I SENT BOTH OF MY STEP DAUGHTERS BIRTH CERTIFICATES IN THE SAME UPS ENVELOPE, EACH ONE HAD THE COVER LETTER ATTACHED TO THE TOP OF THEM. MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTERS CASE IS COMPLETE BUT MY OLDEST DAUGHTERS CASE STILL STATES IT IS WAITING FOR THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE. SO AFTER WEEKS OF CALLING AND BEING TOLD THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER I WAS FINALLY TOLD TODAY THAT THEY SHOULD START A REVIEW WITH A SUPERVISOR TO TRY AND LOCATE THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE.(ANOTHER 10 TO 15 DAYS OF LOST TIME) HAS ANYONE EVER HAD THIS HAPPEN AND HAVE A POSITIVE RESULT COME FROM THE REVIEW? THE LADY ON THE PHONE STATED OR YOU COULD SEND IN ANOTHER BIRTH CERTIFICATE...DOES SHE KNOW HOW HARD AND TIMELY IT IS TO GET ANOTHER BIRTH CERTIFICATE FROM NIGERIA!!!

I can only say I feel your pain. They lost the entire packet (fee checks and all) on us the first time. We had the return receipt with the stamp that they received it, but claimed they never got it. We ended up having to get everything all over. (Apostilled documents from 3 states, and translated documents from El Salvador - also no easy feat) Their "review" was just "no, we still don't have it".. It's frusturating i know. I hope things work out for you on that. Extra birth certs never really hurt - never know if you may need it again anyway. Wish I had more positive news to share. Good luck!

Yes, they lost all my husband's birth certificate and our Marriage certificate. Even thought there waw one received and approved by USCIS, they wanted another. My husband had to travel to 3 cities to get the papers together again. So, far now, i have gathered 11 of my birth certicates between the marriage and immigration. and they want originals---no copies. Lots of fun. and now more originals for the interview.
