Hey guys,

Well, me and my husband are using Skype now to talk. We like it a lot and just started using it but I have a big question. Does it charge me with my Verizon Home Phone service like I am recieving a International call? He is calling me from computer there to my home phone here. I wana make sure of this since we plan to talk for hours. Its a good connection and I hope it wont charge my home phone service? Thanks for any comments

We use skype for this too. He uses my account to call me from an internet cafe in Egypt to my home phone or my cell phone. There have never been extra charges associated on either phone bill.

Is the connection ok? 'cause when we chat via skype, although the quality is excellent, it disconnects us every five minutes or so. Is the type where you use it as a phone better?

Yeah, that's what was happening to us, plus poor sound quaility so we gave up on it.

i had poor sound quality in the beginning when i was trying to use skype to call my husband (computer to computer AND my computer to his cell phone.... but i think it might have been my internet connection, because i just moved and the sound quality is crystal clear and doesnt disconnect us like it used to! what a relief..... :) you might want to check your connection....

We get a recorded voice after 1 hour that tells us we have "3 minutes left" then after 3 minutes it disconnects. He just calls me back... computer to phone. The only time the quality is bad is when the internet is acting up in Egypt.

with skype you can call computer to computer, which is free, and also computer to phone/phone to computer. computer to phone/phone to computer (this is called SkypeOut/SkypeIn) is not free, but it is fairly inexpensive. I can call my husband in Algeria for 15 cents a minute. you buy credit and it adds money to your account. check out www.skype.com.
