I am actually not the applicant but someone writing on behalf of the applicant.

The applicant is currently in her home country (Thailand) for the summer. Three weeks ago, I received a letter from USCIS with the interview date (Wednesday, July 13). Because the applicant was out of country, I sent the letter to the applicant so she can write and sign the form requesting for the reschedule.

Long story short, she sent the signed form back to me, and I in turn overnighted it to the USCIS office yesterday (Tuesday, July 5). The mail was received by the office today (according to the tracking).

The problem is, right after I sent the mail out to USCIS, I did some research online regarding the possibility of being granted the rescheduling of the interview date, and it seemed like the chance was very slim. Realizing this only after having mailed the rescheduling request, I called the 1-800 Customer Service number to see if it was ok for the applicant to go to the interview on the originally scheduled date (July 13) when the request for the rescheduling has been submitted. The rep told me that this info is not something that could be told over the phone and that I had to schedule an appointment with the office to find out the detail. Well of course, the I checked the appointment, and everything is booked.

So I'm lost. Should I just wait it out and hope that the interview gets rescheduled (best case scenario), or should I tell the applicant to hurry up and buy the plane ticket to America so she can go to the originally scheduled interview date (with the risk of it already being moved to another date, which will be a HUGE waste of money and time on her part)?

Does the USCIS reschedule interview for I-751 pretty easily or is the chance very small?
