My fiance and I have been using yahoo messenger and skype for over a year now. I have never been able to figure out how to print any logs. I have printed 1 page for each yahoo conversation and all the skype chats. Weighs about 7 pounds right now. Any help on how to print chat logs from these sites would be appreciated.

I copied our chats and pasted them onto a word document or notepad and then printed them out ..... I also had a heavy collection weighing several pounds, so I condensed them and only included the beginning and end of each conversation .... I metioned ahead of time on a cover sheet that the conversation collections were extensive and explained that these were excerpts and that if attention was given to the dates and times, they would be able to judge the length and frequency of our communications ... everything went well and in our case the exerpts were exceptable

for skype, you can use skype call exporterm which will export calls, but not chat logs.

I asked Yahoo a while ago and at present you cannot print their phone logs. For what its worth I typed out the log available on Yahoo (the one under "Call HIstory") and dated and signed it and sent it along with the the other information we submitted. I did it for both the 129-F and also prior to the embassy interview on June 22 2011. No one raised a question but I also don't think they really looked at it except maybe a quick glance.. This was at the Philippine embassy.

Also I only sent edited small sections of our conversations (one page) not entire texted chats full length. They lasted hours sometimes. I sent samples from each week of each month covering different topics. Again no questions on the 129-F or the embassy.

Good luck and aloha ......Paul

You can also try to use print screens. I had Thu take print screens from inside Yahoo Messenger for example showing our Video Calls and our chat conversations. We printed them out for proof she brought to the interview. I hope this helps. Good luck :)

I used Yahoo Archive Viewer:

http://www.wackyb.co.nz/yahoo/archive_viewer/

I picked specific chat sessions that I thought would make good evidence and exported them to rich text files. The Yahoo Archive Viewer does a pretty decent job of formatting the chat sessions, including the emoticons. I imported the rich text files into MS word, aligned them into the left column, and pasted snapshots I'd captured from the webcam in the right column at appropriate points in the conversation. The end result was as if you could see the conversation taking place. I think the overall effect was really great. Unfortunately, nobody saw them except for me, Phuong, and Mr. Nam. The CO didn't ask to see any chat logs.

I made sure to save all into archive on yahoo messenger. I then would go to the archive after we chatted and sometimes once a week and then go to archive and found the chat I hadn't printed yet and then printed them by hitting the print feature. I saved every friggin chat and it was huge. She wheeled the box into the consulate as it a tad heavy for her. They never even asked to look at the chats but she was ready to open that box and start passing folders showing weekly or monthly chat logs. Shame they never asked to see them.

We bombarded the mebassy with a full year and a half of chat logs. 3 stacks of paper, approximately 2 1/2 - 3 inches thick.

Needless to say, she wasn't asked very many questions. Now this certainly isn't the norm at HCMC, but we were very well prepared.
