Hi Saylin,

Saylin would you mind answering me the 3 questions below? Thanks

Also did you have to go to an AOS (adjustment of status) interview with your sponsor before you got your green card? I was never told about this by my POE officer. He simple said that I will receive my green card in about 2 months.

Thanks

BTW Thanks Canadiandggal,

Please don't mind for asking Saylin to answer me on these 3 questions as well since she has been of great help- not to take anything away from you.

Thank you.

Hi Owie,

Don't worry about AOS interview; that's only for K1 applicants. After the interview at Montreal that's your last one till ROC/Naturalization.

Your originals will most likely not be sent with your green card. There's a form you can fill out to request your originals be returned to you: G-884. Found here on USCIS: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=dccb5d4c6608e010VgnVCM1000000ecd190aRCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

You will NOT get your medical results back. Those stay with USCIS forever. They took your X-ray? At the consulate, I was never asked to hand over my CD of my X-rays, just the envelope that contained my medical results. And POE never asked for them either. Usually you keep the X-rays to give to your new doctor in the US as a reference, in case you get sick or anything. But it's obviously not a big deal if you don't have them. Don't worry about this at all.

And they can't transfer your visa as you no longer have one. The IR-1/CR-1 visa is a one-time entry visa. And I haven't renewed my passport in years, so I'm not sure if they changed this, but last time I renewed, I got my old passport returned to me. So if you do travel with your new passport and haven't received your green card, you can present your old passport with the visa and stamp on it.

Thanks Saylin and Canadianggal,

Saylin I still have my 1st chest x-ray as I had to have a 2nd medical since 1 yr elapsed after my 1st exam in Jan. 2010. Oh well I guess I passed my med exam since I received my IR1 stamp.

Thanks again for all your help.

Well, at least you have an extra x-ray in case you ever need it.

And you wouldn't have passed the interview if there was something wrong with your medical results.
