I just got the AOS bill this morning. I was able to logon and pay a couple of hours later.

Now how long until the IV bill is generated? Is it dependent on accepting the AOS?

AOS and IV are SEPARATE tracks.

The IV bill is generated a few days after NVC accepts your DS-3032 form.

At the Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center (https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx) I am now getting "Sign In Failed - Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time..." - I take this to be the first indication that our NVC phase is about to end and that our visa interview appointment will soon be assigned :dance:

I'm right behind you. They processed my I864 payment and I printed the barcode and mailed it today. Waiting for the IV bill now. :whistle:

Well, usually, a day or two after they accept it, then the IV bill gets generated. Apparently, it's generated for you, but you're unable to pay. What browser are you using?

I tried with IE8/9 and Firefox... however this morning around 8:30AM I got an email - Invoice posted!

Just parted with the best spent 404 dollars in my life ;)

Took friggin forever though to let me pay! =S

Well, glad everything finally worked out! And I would suggest using IE for all the payment portal stuff. Most, if not all, government sites are designed solely for IE and aren't compatible with some browsers.

And I'm sure it was the best $404 spent ever laughing.gif

Just received an email from NVC entitled "CHECKLIST COVER LETTER" - but this time it's not a false RFE. The body of the "checklist cover letter" reads: "The NVC has received the information you submitted and placed it in your case file. You will be contacted when your petition is sent to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate for further processing." Translation: NVC is indicating that our case is complete and their next email will give us our appointment date & time at the Bangkok Embassy :dance:

The "false RFE" was pretty odd as well. Absolutely everything in their checklist was not only sent to NVC in the very same envelope, but was also paper-clipped to the DS-230 paperwork inside the envelope. How the NVC could falsely claim that they still needed these original documents :angry: - when they were sitting all right there in front of NVC's face :wacko: - is a complete mystery to me. Fortunately, I had the foresight to scan electronic copies of every original document I sent to NVC :innocent: , so when they emailed me a "Checklist Cover Letter" falsely claiming not to have these documents, I was able to immediately email them the scanned copies to back up my assertion that NVC did indeed have absolutely every one of the original documents they were falsely claiming they didn't have :star: . Had I not scanned everything in advance, I would have had no evidence and I would probably have been delayed for several more months trying to re-obtain original documents from the Thai Government :crying: !

Out of curiousity, we've now been married two years (as of May). Will the Embassy issue an IR-1 or do we have to have POE do it?

Out of curiousity, we've now been married two years (as of May). Will the Embassy issue an IR-1 or do we have to have POE do it?

Grats to you too!

The embassy should issue you an IR-1 visa. Just make sure you point it out at the interview as they might not realise that you've been married for two years. And in case they issue you a CR-1 visa by accident, then you can just mention it at POE and they'll make sure you're entered in the system as arriving on an IR-1 visa.

If you had your medical done already, then just bring the results to the interview. They'll request for them then.
