Hi everyone,

As you all know, nothing in this process appears easy. I sent in the AOS forms to the Chicago Lockbox and received confirmation from the US Postal Service on June 17th that it was in fact delivered. This Friday will be 3 weeks since that delivery and the check has not been cashed nor have we received any notification from USCIS. I just called the 800 number and was told that it can take up to 30 days to receive notification (which I can believe). But I find it hard to believe USCIS would take this long to cash the check.

Anyone else have this experience where USCIS has sat on the check for over two weeks?

Sorry, if this is a duplicate for some.

OK, thanks everyone. I always thought the check would be cashed pronto.

Not to mention I'm not too keen with the idea that my package could be lost. Forget the money, copies of passports, social security numbers, wedding license; it would be a dream package for anyone who wanted to steal your identity.

So we sit now, tick, tock, tick....thanks again.
