I don't know if it helped. But I logged on to my wife's email account to send the Choice of Agent form. That way it came from her email account.

Did you get your police clearance certificate?

Local Police Clearance Certificate, Yes.

Passport Clearance Certificate, No. That will be obtained after I get the official interview notice from NVC. This will be shown at the interview. NVC knows that the town where my wife is from they will not give our the Passport Clearance Certificate so they process the DS-230 without and you must show it at the interview.

Good Lord, have you nothing more enjoyable you could be doing?

This is the second time in 20yrs I have been through this process, there is no reason acceptable to why and when we get our notifications, we get them when we get them, I was married 20yrs ago in Houston, have 2 Texas/British boys whom I have not seen since last November I have missed all their birthdays, our 20 th wedding anniversary, Christmas and New Year with my hubby and boys, I miss them all and look forward to being reunited with them soon.

LOL - I JUST saw this post tonight. To answer your question: during the day I am chasing my 5 kids around (summer break). After 10pm though, it's mighty lonely without hubby; crunching statistics numbers around and obsessing about the next visa step is more fun than dishes & laundry. My Congressional Rep's office, btw, contacted NVC & USCIS within 24 hours of my request. Nice to see politicians actually follow through on representing constituents.

I translate the delays and inefficiencies into work hours, budgets, and $$$. Serco, the contractor, makes hundresds of millions of $$'s from government contracts. During all these debt-ceiling talks, reduced rating of Fed credit rating, and subsequent DIP in stock market values, I cannot help but look at current immigration systems as a huge $$$ sink hole in the US Federal Budget.

I was feeling a little lost when i wrote this. Thank you for your best wishes and same right back at ya. I called the DOS yesterday and she told me that NVC are showing everything is ready to go so hoping for my interview date very soon.

I received my first bill today, I logged into portal but I was unable to pay. Anybody else having the same problem. It shows not paid, I check the box and click "pay selected fee" and nothing....Let me know if anyone else having the same problem.

Ok I just called NVC, there is a power outage and that's why I cant pay bill at this time...Thank you !

Dave, it was a recording message regard to power outage. I also had SIF till late last night. I received bill AOS -864 e-mail this morning around 6:30am but due to power outage I wont be able to pay till later tonight.

I noticed of SIF yesterday morning around 9am and I checked again around midnight last night. After receiving e-mail (bill), I checked this morning and I was able to log in.

I think the SIF's during the first week are when they put your billing info on hold while they update your case. they don't expect people to know how to use it before they send the billing email I guess. Keep trying.

I am in the USA. My wife and I and both of our families are from Vadodara, Gujarat.

Ahmadabad is where she got her passport issued from. They will not issue a Passport Clearance Certificate without an interview letter from NVC/Department of State.

You can send off your DS-230 packet without the passport clearance certificate. Just be sure to state that it will be obtained and shown before the interview.
