I got my noa2 on june 29th and the letter said I would hear from them in 30 days or less. Well today july 29th I got a call so I can pay the 496.00 dollars.

what?

Do not pay anything over the phone. All payments to NVC have to go through the payment portal, and you have to get teh NVC# and the Invoice number from the phone rep. Nobody gets called by NVC to pay $$. And you have to pay the bills separately. Sorry, but your story sounds really strange.

NVC phone number : 1-603-334-0700 call them up until midnight East Coast Time, Monday - Friday.

If you got your NVC Case Number and Invoice Identification Number from NVC (call 603-334-0700, press 1 and then 5 to get to an operator and ask for these two). Then logon at https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx and ther using these two numbers you will be able to pay the fees. This is the only way you pay fees.

This is the only way you pay fees.

While the online payment portal is probably the fastest, easiest, and most efficient way to pay NVC fees; it's not the only way to pay them. People do have the option of mailing a cashiers check or money order: Alternative Method of Payment

Dave,

I replied back to your private message but I am going to post here what I am going to do as well for others that may want some direction.

The traditional thing to do is to keep calling NVC and asking the oprerator if they have generated the DS-3032 form for your case. This is the only way to be 100% sure that it is ready to be sent. According to NavyK, he sent his right after he got his NVC number.

This is what I am going to do and I suggest you do as well.

When you get your NVC case number, send the DS-3032 e-mail to NVC without delay. In the mean time keep checking the online payment portal to see if they have generated the IV payments . If they have you know the DS-3032 has gone thru.

Keep calling the operator as well asking if they have generated the DS-3032 if your IV payments are not generated yet, and when he/she says yes they have, send another e-mail in.

Keep calling to obtain your IIN as well, this can save days in the process instead of waiting for them to e-mail the DS-3032 packet to you and your wife which contains the IIN within it.

Good Luck!

Wow...you one of the lucky one's that got Passport Clearance before NVC complete.

We need to show it at the interview since our state (Gujarat) will not give our the Passport Clearance Cert. without an interview letter from the U.S.

Nope nothing here. This is checking the AVR though. Will call at 10 pm as per my normal routine...

lolz..so i think ur wife need to move in punjab..thtway she can get her before her interview letter.

Dave this is sooo true! I already purchased my hubby a Buckeye jersey! He is going to wear it when he flies into the US! Gotta make them part of the tradition!

Yep, Still waiting.

I am trying to fix my signature to put in my timeline, but it won't let me put in anything more than 5 lines. I gave up.

They recieved my file this past Monday, but they have not generated a case number yet. I call NVC 3 times now in the evening to make sure they are telling me the straight deal and not messing with me. So far they have been pretty consistent. I was the one that use to give instruction to all the n00bs on here for NVC and then others came along during their processing and what ya know, I'm the one that's draggin' behind. lol

I still have hope for today. I really want my wife here before Thanksgiving.

I want her to take her to an Ohio State football game in November where it's freezing cold so she understand how crazy her husband is about football and his university!

My wife already has some of my Buckeye gear (T-shirt and gym shorts) that she uses as her PJ's right now. lol

I was unable to watch the Sugar Bowl this past year against Arkansas, when I was able to find a good stream of it, I went nuts. lol

A police clearance certificate and passport clearance certificate (depending on the age of your passport) is what you need to submit to NVC.

They ALL require you to submit a passport clearance certificate.

Some local jurisdictions (i.e. Gujarat state) will not issue you a passport clearance certificate unless you show them an official interview letter from NVC.

By including in our cover letter that we can not obtain a Passport Clearance Cert until a official interview letter is given to us and it will be provided at the time of the interview allows our file to be processed at NVC and moved on to Mumbai Consulate.

Please read this to clear up this issue a bit more... http://www.***removed***/immigration/police-certificates.html

Also, NVC knows which states can and can not get it. They can hold up your case if you are able to obtain it without a interview letter. Do some searching. Ahmadabad in Gujarat is notorious for requiring a interview letter before they issue you a Passport Cert.
