Gray posted in March Filers thread that he got his case at NVC (NOA2 date 6/20). There is progress. Unfortunately members are not updating their timelines and hence the reports doesn't reflect the last few days progress - May I request all to please update their timelines with NVC case number receipt dates! Thanks.

I do not want to update my timeline until I have an actual NVC case number.. I called late last night as the operator during the day suggested.. The person I got was very confused.. She said "You pop but up but there is no number yet... hold on." and after five minutes of being on hold she came back and told me that even though I was in the system they would not assign a case number until August 2nd - please call back then. She must be wrong but man they go to great lengths to take any joy out of any good news.

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

Here is the strange thing that happened to me when I called last night.

They have nbeen asking me for my case number, the approval notice date and were saying that they have not yet received yet. But yesterday after I gave the case number, the guy asked me for the beneficiary name and then said that my case number is not in the system and asked me call next week. When I tried to extend the conversation, he said that "En route" means anything between USCIS dispatch to NVC Receipt. I further tried to ask if my case was there but would be entered into the system next week and he simply asked me to call next week.

Now I am not sure who is really holding the cases - may be both are hand in glove.

I just got off the phone with NVC (~10:30am CT). I was checking to see if our case has arrived (we were approved at CSC on 6/30). Today is the 15th business day and it still has not arrived. The person at answering service (that's really what they are, contracted)told me to call back tomorrow evening as it "should be" in the system by then. Further, she indicated that because of the 4th of July holiday, that "everything slowed down" and they are catching up. When I asked if cases are usually sent individually or in batches, she gave an ambiguous reply "sometimes that happens..."

I am now inclined to agree with most who feel that processing slowed this month due to people on holiday. Now whether or not all this info is to be believed is another story...we can only chase our tails and put pieces of the puzzle together.

I haven't yet checked, but I am curious if previous years in the VJ database show a similar slow down in this same time frame??

cheers!

It is not just 4th July time, the whole of summer particularly July has been slow in the past. Thanks for raising our hopes with that information.

They were falling behind before the 4th of July holiday.. I called them just now and was again told it was in the system but this time she said it could be September before a case number was assigned... Imagine how it is for the people that actually believe them... I think I heard the twlight zone theme in the background :)

 They should change the on-hold music to something spacey, for sure. Dr. Who maybe, because this process is full of "timey-whimey" moments!

I just called NVC. I have made a game out of it where the goal is to try to make them laugh before we hangup. Spreading the love. Anyhow: yesterday the lady said "should be here Friday" and today the lady said "should be here Monday for sure!" We had a great laugh when she said "we just have to be patient":rofl:
