SAMPLE EMAIL MESSAGE TO REPRESENTATIVE (feel free to cut & paste):

Dear Congressional Representative

Are you aware that as of June 15, 2011 the USCIS California Service Center (CSC)has delayed forwading APPROVED I-130 petitions, thereby creating an artificial bottleneck for those of us waiting to be forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC) in New Hampshire? Although the CSC has been aprroving petitions rapidly lately, these petitions cannot enter the DS-230 Immigrant Visa Application stage at the NVC while sitting in a mailroom in California. When the time lag goes beyond 15 business days, the NVC says they will ask the CSC. When it is still not found, the petitioner is told to wait 60-90 days. Meanwhile, the Vermont Service Center is forwarding them in 3 days, just as the CSC did prior to June 2011.

Most I-130 petitions are from US citizens wanting to be reunited with a spouse. In some cases, there are children waiting for a parent. Please help us reunite families by simply urging the USCIS CSC to forward approved petitions in a timely fashion.

Thank you for representing the needs of your consituents.

Sincerely,

[your name here]

Yes! let's hope. I'm on with USCIS now to see if they know when my application was sent off to NVC. they say wait 90 days to call! hehe. I said well my legal document NOA 2 says only 30 days. i'm on with a supervisor,s hes aid if I want more information on why it is 90 days and not 30 days, I should go to my local USCIS office. This is insane!!

It's called bullshit!!!!! The document clearly states 30 days but they know we cant do anything else by keep calling and that's exactly what we need to do, just keep calling cause no call center likes there queue full!!!! Eventually they'll have to do something......

Ok So I did just what you suggested and instead of waiting I called. I asked the rep if there was a case number assigned and an invoice and she said yes, and proceeded to give me both numbers, but she said I couldn't do anything else yet because the invoice had not been created yet. When I logged in the NVC page to see if I could make the payment, it doesn't show a bill being generated yet. Any ideas as to how long may be the wait before the bill is generated, or is it something I will have to check on a daily basis???

noooooo! okay - first off: congrats on making it through to the other side!!!

second of all, don't "wait" for anything! call every day and by the end of 3 days or so,you should have NVC case number.

While you are on the phone with them, gettnig that case ID#, ask them for the Invoice ID and give them both of your email addresses.

Then immediately have beenficiary email over a DS-3032 email, naming you as Agent. That way you can pay for the IV and the AOS online.

Once those funds show as "clear" you can send the Affidavot of Supprt and the DS-230 which has to be filled in and signed by beneficiary.

If your spouse is in another country, get him/her to fil in Part1&2, sign part1, and dhl it to you pronto, b/c you could be sending it to NVC next week!!! Along with the DS-230 you have to include all original documents, and one set of photocopies. HEre is a link to the government web site listing the DS-230 instructions and the documents needed:

state department list of documents to include with DS-230

That is FANTASTIC! Good job!

okay - now you can have your spouse send a DS-3032 via email!

Did you give the rep your mail addresses?

Way down at bottom of the "How Do I bring My Spouse" guide, there is a sample DS-3032 email. Link:

guide that includes sample letters and email

That guide will step you thorugh the rest. You cannot pay the IV bill until you are named as agent, so have spouse send the 3032 ASAP.

I mean 10 days based on current situation. To be realistic I don't expect anything from the congressional representative now, as they are all busy with their battle - debt ceiling in Washington. But we need to do what we can.

I am hoping for my NVC case # this week. Hope keeps us going. All the best to all.

My rep emailed me back within 24 hours, and he's holding a town meeting this Thursday.

Reps cannot get anything "approved" or "sped up" but they can ask about the current status of a petition, thereby invoking a little "nudge" and perhaps a modicum of accountability. Plus, I think the Reps need to understand this immgration process better; the gross inefficiencies and lack of accountability incentives result in delayed IV approvals and wasted US$.

If we play the business day game, though, I think 6 more biz days should be plenty for my June 27 NOA2 date. (I know: I am dreaming. But aren't we all?) :)

I was approved on the 11th of July too... system still says no records

Our case was expedited and the adjucator sent me a personal email stating that the case was approved and was being forwarded to NVC by him and they should have it within 5-7 days. NVC says to wait 15 days... but when I call USCIS they say 90 days? Who the heck made up the most recent government "Bug Off" list of stupid responses this year? At least make your stupid responses consistent!!! :wow:

I think I found out why the NVC is too busy to find our I-130's in the mailroom.

I opened the K-1 full timelines, and did a reverse sort on "NVC receive" column.

All those fiancee 129's are being pushed right on through the system.

Okay - I get it... they are in love just as we are... but this bothers me for some reason.
