I recently signed up for a court interpreter test. I know what the test is like and how to prepare for it. Was wondering whether anybody here has taken such a test.

I took two semesters of Spanish/English Translations last year and we touched on interpreting a bit. The first part is pretty easy because they just want to see if you are fluent and understand what is being said but I hear the second part is incredibly difficult because you have to interpret simultaneously. From what I gathered about only 5% of applicants pass all tests. So if you pass it with flying colors, kudos to you!

Thanks. Yeah, I know it's not that easy to pass. Simultaneous interpretation requires a lot of skill and practice. Consecutive seems a little easier though. We will see. I try to study every day and hope for the best result.
