I had another question please. What is required from me for the interview? I assume a background check will be conducted to verify if our marriage is legit correct?

The onus is on you and your spouse to prove that your relationship is legit. That is information that you will supply at the interview. That is more than photos of a wedding ceremony. It should span the length of your relationship. The USCIS will do a criminal background check on the both of you.

Thank you all for the info. We're getting our marriage license next week but can't really afford to have a wedding, will it be a problem if we don't have wedding pictures to submit with our AOS?? We have plenty of other pictures taken throughout our year relationship.

Plenty of people go through this without a big ceremony; a lot of us did courthouse weddings (with or without plans for a ceremony down the road). Bring a camera anyway, but the size of the ceremony does not matter in the least.

That's a relief I was looking at your timeline..it took 3 weeks for the NOA1 to arrive? Also, do they let you know that your interview was approved when you're there or do they send you a notification?

I can see that some people have filed the AOS packet with just the I-130...Must I send in the I-485 too or just have my husband fill the I-130? And what about the I-765? I'm confused

Please read the guides. The I-130 establishes a relationship and makes a visa number available, and the I-485 is the GC application. I-765 is optional. Please read the guides.

thank you; this is what is confusing me, in that guide it says that we must include evidence of unified bonds, and when i asked here i was told that i should take the proof with me to the interview

If you look at the instructions for the I-130, it says you should include at least one piece of evidence attesting to the bona fide nature of your marriage. Download the instructions at uscis.gov

Keep in mind here that people are doing different processes. If you asked in this forum, people should answer appropriately, and tell you to include bonafides. However, a lot of people who entered on K-1 visa wander over here and give advise that is appropriate for their situation (they do not need bonafides because they were interviewed at consulate) but not appropriate for yours. The VJ guide I linked is correct, and it gives you the right forms. Read the instructions at uscis.gov carefully for all of those forms. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply, I have one last question and I did read about this but did not fully understand it...do we include the Form I-751 with our application? I have no residency right now, I am here on a tourist visa..

No. After you get your GC, you will be a "conditional" permanent resident. You will have all the rights and responsibilities of any other permanent resident, but because you got GC through a marriage that is less than 2 years old, the government will want to check up on you in 2 years to make sure you are still happily married. That is the purpose of form I-751. It cuts down on fraud significantly because there is another check down the line. In two years, you will file to "remove conditions" on your permanent residency by filing form I-751. You will also notice that the GC you get will expire in 2 years. The IO will tell you about it when you have your interview.
