That, and because our public education system has been dumbed down by a twin assault from two ends - the religious right wing types and the politically correct hypersensitive types. The result is our kids don't understand the basics of anything but don't care to remedy it for fear the effort might offend somebody. So we need to import our smart people seeing how we are no longer producing enough of our own.
