How do you know if your case is 'touched'?

I check my case status pretty much everyday for the past 4 weeks. And all it says is "on 7/11/2011 we received your case...", and the latest date I see is 7/14. What's going on? Is my case on someone's desk eating dust? :(

file I-751, petition to remove the conditions of residence (before 2nd year expires upon entry)

When you log into the USCIS "My Case Status" section, go to "My Portfolio", then the date under your 'Last Updated' column shows when you were touched :) This is all assuming you registered and made an account then added your receipt number. You can also get e-mail and text updates from them as well.

Let's hope they are still processing at the same rate as they were for us April filers. A lot of us received at NOA2 in 100 days or less.

Currently there is a severe backlog at NVC due to CSC and VSC processing a large amount of peitiions much faster than NVC could handle.

Usually from NOA2 to NVC receive it takes a maximum of 10 days. It took 31 days for NVC to tell me my wife's file is in house and another 10 days to finally get our NVC case number.

Regardless, I wish you all the best of luck in your immigration process.

So, do you all really think October is when we will get approved? I sure pray so! I have gotten 4 touches how about you all? My latest was August 4th. Is that bad or good? Oh and what is a priority date? My priority date is July 25, 2011 does it have any significance?

My cases has not been touched since July 1st.....Anyone with the same situation..Should i be worried?

July 2010 - Hubby and our children moved back to USA (for work etc)

Nov 2010 - Visited for 3 weeks (it hurts like mad to be away from them)

June 2011 - visited for 4 weeks

26th June 2011 -I-130 Express Mail to Chicago

28th June 2011- I-130 Chicago signed for package

12th July - Returned to UK..

29th June 2011 - USCIS informed me Noa1 mailed on 29th June

2nd July 2011 - Touched

8th August 2011 - Expedite approved

12th August 2011 - Touched

12th August 2011 - The dreaded RFE!

9th September 2011 - RFE received by CSC - being reviewed!

13th September 2011 - USCIS approved

19th September 2011 - NVC received file.

4th October 2011 - NVC # assigned, emailed dob amendment email (amended now), emailed DS-3032, Logged into payment portal (not invoiced), booked medical - 20th October

5th October 2011 - Emailed expedite

6th October 2011 - 2 emails from NVC (expedite and ds-3032 responses)

- SIF at payment portal.

7th October 2011 - expedite approved

12th October 2011 - case left NVC (nice birthday present!)

13th October 2001 - case arrived in UK

Touches are not really anything to be worried about.

It can be as simple as moving a box of files from one side to other side of the building. Any time the file is touched it has to be scanned first. For all you know it could be they mixed up the pile and they are trying to fix the situation. Who really knows...

A lot of us April filers received NOA2 without even having out files touched until the day we received the NOA2 Text and email.

A touch does not warrant they are working on your case currently.

The timelines on here are pretty close to accurate. I would use those are a ballpark estimate and not even worry about the touches.

According to the timeline we should get approval sometime in October... I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying for a speedy process :yes:

As for case touches.. Mine has been touched once so far. Your priority date is the date when they received your application.
