How do I opt for electronic processing?

Outline for the e-mail:

As soon as you have your case number and have given the operator your email addresses, it’s time to send in the optin email.

Email address the optin is sent to: NVCElectronic@state.gov

Subject line: OPTIN ***##########

Insert your case number instead of the X’s.

Body of the email:

Petitioner’s full name: First name, middle name, last name

Petitioner’s date of birth: Month, date, year

Petitioner’s email address: [insert email address]

Beneficiary’s full name: First name, middle name, last name

Beneficiary’s date of birth: Month, date, year

Beneficiary’s email address: [insert email address]

Make sure you double check the case number you put in the subject line and the information in the body of the email. Don’t forget you need to include ‘OPTIN’ in the subject line. If it’s not there, it won’t get accepted.

Once you send it, you should get an auto response email saying that your email was received and wait 10 business days for a response back. My optin email took 16 days to get accepted (11 business days).

Just received notice of an RFE on my case. The email and text came through at 7:15am MST.

At this point I'm not that upset about the RFE, because it means there is some progress. Now I just need to wait a few days for it to arrive in the mail to find out what they want. My guess is they didn't like one or both of our divorce certificates or maybe they want more evidence of a bonafide marriage.

They will not email you when it is entered into the system; however, if you have provided them with an email address, they will send you the AOS invoice by email.

The automated voice system won't tell you when the case has been received by the NVC either. It'll only update once you have a case number. If you speak to an operator, they can tell you if the case has gotten to the NVC mailroom.

Actually, I did get an email with the case number, BIN, and IIN when they were available (the same day I got them over the phone).

After watching lots of applications filed after mine get approved, I broke down and called my senators and congressman. Weirdly though, I got an email from my congressman today saying that he called the service center and was told that our I-130 application was approved yesterday. However... the website still says we're in initial review.

I called USCIS about this discrepancy, and they had no idea what was going on. A woman at USCIS told me the following things through the course of the phone call:

1. It hasn't been approved.

2. Maybe it's been approved, but it takes a while (up to a month?!) to enter it into the computer system.

3. Our service request was cancelled yesterday, indicating possible approval.

4. It's on its way to NVC, so that means it must have been approved.

I have no idea how to feel about any of this. Any ideas?

Sounds like they just told you what you were hoping to hear

to get you off their backs. Totally frustrating!

at this time you can EXPEDITE you case for the time you have waiting,

yesterday a women in univision.com was approved with her son, She was waiting

8 months!!!!! because the age of her husband it was to high for her

he have 52 years old and she have 28 years old.

he go an interview yesterday with an agent of USCIS, ask him so many questions

about the relation with her, an they have a little daughter of 1 year old.

so after the questions, the representative say: congratulations here is your

approvals for you wife and step-son.

in this cases the AGE was the PROBLEM!!!

SHE NEVER LOSE THE HOPE!!!!!!!
