Just received email and text alert for NOA2 for my wife's I130. I'm happy but I also submitted my step daughter in the same packet with the same NOA1 date (July 28), so I am still waiting for her NOA2.

Just wanted to share with you all. I know the waiting is tough.

I will be calling customer service in the morning to follow up on my step daughter.

Good luck to all..

Oh you are 3 days after me. I wonder where mine is. Did you receive that just now? Is that the time they come in now?

Okay, thanks. I was just wondering because I hadn't seen paperwork like that mentioned before. It's purpose makes total sense though :)

My Senators (who were useless) required such a form. My Representative's staff, who got the job done, didn't.

To anyone else still waiting, at this point you're almost certainly going to have to hammer your Senator's and/or Representative's staff every day. After all, they do work for you. :)

Thank you. :)

I'm pretty convinced that what did it for us is getting our congressman's people to call CSC and get them to pull the file and process it. I've been out of the VJ loop now for almost two weeks. How have things been going?

Do you feel ashamed about the fact that your insistence on calling your congressman and getting your file "pulled" means (assuming it actually had an effect) that you basically slowed down the processing times of the rest of us who are waiting for our loved ones? Essentially what you're telling us is that you cut in line.

I've been waiting 208 days... which means I filed almost two weeks before you, yet yours got processed first. If that's just random chance, then that's life, but if it's because you felt your case was more important than ours, then I find that pretty offensive. You don't love your spouse more than we love our spouses.

Calling the congressman has not helped me to find out anything more than that I was at an officer's desk. That means about nothing considering people who filed after me are getting approved daily while I sit here depressed.

You should address your input to USCIS, not to him. And while you're at it, go ahead and address why some cases were approved 15 days after NOA1 w/out any expediting request!!! and why folks that applied to in Oct and Dec of last year got approved by Feb 2012?

When you get them to answer these questions, then direct these type of inputs to VJ'ers.

I really do understand that you're frustrated and not happy about the whole process and by the way you're not the only one, but that does not give you a reason to be that negative with other "lucky" folks. Senators and Reps are for the people and you have access to them as well; it is not that he used a tool that we all don't have for his own advantage.

my 2cents....be positive and remember we are going through all this because we love our spouses, we all do.

Yes, we all have access to senators and congressmen. But that doesn't change the fact that in contacting them, you're asking a worker at USCIS to pull your file from its place in line and put it before a bunch of other applications, which implies that you think those other files are not as important as yours.

Some people have serious circumstances. I need my husband here because I am not well. You need to remember this-that everyone has personal issues going on. Nobody is more important but their circumstances may deem their spouses early arrival necessary. I called my congressman and was told we are in the adjudication box but that did not jump me in front of anyone. I was told that it may take another week or two for them to get to my case. The congressman's secretary told me to call back if I did not hear anything in two weeks. To me this is NOT jumping in front of anyone. Some people may never get approved without a little push and shove. You should call your congressman also.

I think every single person going through this process could come up with a reason that they need their spouse to arrive early.

I think every single person going through this process could come up with a reason that they need their spouse to arrive early.

And why shouldn't they? The people you're talking about aren't pulling strings like paying people off or using personal connections; they're all making their case to the same people we all have access to (Congressmen/women and USCIS officers), and under the same rules that govern all of us during this process. Why should you begrudge people trying to be with their loved ones when you have exactly the same resources?

Rhetorical questions, btw.

You really want to get pissy with someone who waited just a hair bit less time than you when dozens of people are getting processed in a matter of a couple of weeks or no more than a month? I started hammering my people (congressmen and senators) and going to USCIS the day after it ticked past 150 days.

Should I feel bad that my people are, for whatever reason, more effective than others?

No, I shouldn't.

Do I feel bad that you, and others, are still waiting?

Damned right I do. Just yesterday I told my wife that I feel bad for everyone still waiting.

But, I can't do anything about that. What I suggest you do is pour your anger and angst into hammering your people for results. It may be far more productive and will certainly make more sense. Please remember, these people work for us.
