I didn't have to for my Congressman's staff, but did for both Senators. I honestly have no idea if you can call or not. Worse thing that happens is that they tell you no. I'm sad to say that I doubt your file is with a person right now. If it were, it would be processed in a day or two, no? As to the storage thing, I wouldn't doubt it.

I know exactly what you mean about even being willing to except an RFE. It at least means progress, of a sort. I think the only reason my Congressman's staff was able to do something is he knew someone personally at CSC who was willing to take action. I was seriously considering saying to hell with the visa and just moving to China. We decided in the end that wasn't a good idea while the process was still moving. I'd make far more money in the States than I would in China.

Unfortunately, all I can suggest is what I've suggested before. Hammer the Senator's and Congressmen. You're way out of normal processing, so there ought to be something that can be done.

You're significantly past 150 days. I suggest you call your Senators and Congresspeople tomorrow and ask them to look into it.

Congressmen and Senators involved? As to calling for a case inquiry, hell yes it's worth it. You guys are way past the point where I was calling them every other day.

What number do you use for that? And I assume I need to have my receipt number ready? Haha, and their hours? I guess a link to a website with this info would be helpful Want to call them tomorrow.

That's the number. You can start calling at 0800 your time. You'll need your receipt numbers and all that jazz. Right after you call them, look up your congresscritters and Senators and call them too. You're at the point where you should probably be hammering someone every day, if not everyone.

That's odd, but not shocking. The email could have been caught anywhere along the chain. Do you have the paper notification yet? Either way, if you're concerned, call them tomorrow and ask them directly. I plan on doing the same to find out why NVC still doesn't have our case even though there should have been plenty of time for them to get it at this point.

I already called our congressman and already received a letter both from the congressman and USCIS congressional liaison unit, they told me to wait atleast 30 days and if I dont get a notice of action from them i need to call them again. Its been 10 days since I received the letter from them.

How long did it take for NVC to actually receive your petitions from USCIS? Does that 14 days include the time it took for them to receive them or no?

As far as I know, I haven't called them again today, we still don't have our case numbers at around 13 days (depending on whether you could weekends and the like). However, of note is that NVC didn't even claim to have the petition in their building until sometime yesterday I think.

One annoying thing is that there is yet another federal holiday coming up. Hopefully we're not waiting clear until then for our case number though.

I think we should take into consideration the petition category. my husband called USCIS awhile ago and the agent said that the backlog is on IR1/CR1 petition. Most of the August approvals I see lately are K1 and a few for IR1.

I saw lots of activity on that website for Friday. They issued about 30 approvals dated July 25-July 26. Ironically the case directly after ours is approved and all the 10 cases after us but a few. I am very worried now.
